There is not much real close to Patrick as far as hunting - it's pretty built up around there. There is waterfowl north and south. Down around Palm Bay there is lots of duck hunting but it's hard to get into without an airboat or a boat with a mud motor. There are some WMA's in that part...
I have one -- it's a nice looking (it has real wood not the fake looking stuff they have used on other models), light, reliable gun. Two criticisms: the recoil system is mostly marketing hype and the trigger should be better for this level of gun. I would include a trigger job in the...
The lawyer who drafted my recent trust advised a separate bank account but I've never followed through on it. I had acquired most of my items prior to having that trust so i didn't see the point. If the government is going to take your NFA items, it will be based on new legislation that...
I wonder if the machine gun and silencer spin on this was the perp's idea or if it was suggested by the FBI agent supplying the arms? It seems awful convenient to be able to demonize silencers as evil terrorist tools given the recent actions of the administration at "fixing" non-existent...
USPS allows shipment of long guns between unlicensed individuals within the same state as long as it's not otherwise prohibited.

I came across one deer hunting in early December in Pennsylvania a few years ago. I thought it was a skinny dog running around at first. I kind of doubt it made it.
I don't have that can but an older 30P-1. They make a top quality product that they really stand behind. I got an adapter stuck in mine (not their fault - bad threading on the adapter) and they took care of it and had my can back to me within about 10 days including making me the proper adapter.
The american public has been conditioned by Hollywood that silencers are the tools of criminals and deranged snipers. Until the public views them differently, the politicians aren't going to touch any changes to the way they are regulated.
The original Finnlight stocks were okay but noting special. The newer ST (soft touch) stock is much nicer. The rubber texture on the ST makes it easier to handle in wet conditions and quieter.
I had my safe in the garage when I lived in Florida for 5+ yrs. With a golden rod and some desiccant, I never had any problems with rust. Just make sure you wipe down your stuff before you put it way. Sweaty hands or drops of sweat from your forehead will definitely cause rust spots.
Also...
Mine's not that short (18 inches) but the recoil is about like a 12 gauge shot gun. You're going to get a good bit more of muzzle blast and noise with a short barrel, however. Since you are using it for bear defense, make sure you really ring in out with the exact load and bullet and mags you...
A gram of Tritium is a huge amount in regard to these type of devices. I'm not sure how much tritium an ACOG uses but it is probably a Curie or less. For reference a self-illuminated exit sign uses about 25 curies. Using the above quoted $30,000 per gram figure, that would be about $3...
A 308 with regular ammo and the right suppressor will reduce the noise level at your ear below the damage threshold. I'm not sure I would want to risk an elk on subsonic ammo out of a 308. If you want to shoot subsonic I would go bigger -- a 458 Socom or 338 Spectre, etc. You would need...
The Sako 300 WSM in built on a specific Short Magnum action that is shorter than the Magnum action. I agree with all the pleadings about getting in shape for rugged hunting but carrying an extra couple pounds with our arms or hanging off your shoulder or pack is a different ergonomic issue...
If you are going to be hiking with it a lot I'd get the 300 WSM. A bit lighter and more compact. I don't think ammo is much of an issue. Every Walmart I've been in carries it.
Ammo to me is not much of a concern. I can't think of many situations were you can't take sufficient ammo with...
The rifle will last you the rest of your life and can be passed to your kids to be treasured by them or sold off to buy something they treasure more. The Sako has great aesthetics and you can admire it every time you pull it out of the safe. If you just want a functional tool, get a Savage...
I have pretty much the same rig and don't regret buying it. Just be aware that the VX-6 might cause you ejection problems because of the size of the turrets with certain rings. If you can move the scope fore or aft it may solve the problem but may not be ideal for eye relief.
