    Clown Nose

Had no idea what this was about until I searched "Ferguson Clown Nose". I would have posted a link, but every article made reference to "the unarmed black teenager killed by a Ferguson Police Officer". Kinda where I stopped caring. Again.

Ruger SR40c vs. Beretta PX4 Storm Compact in .40S&W

I currently have a SR40c, and have shot the PX4 compact. Personally I didn't like how the Berreta felt in hand. I found the Ruger to be more accurate, but that may be due to the fact that I have several thousand rounds through it. And like I said, the Beretta just didn't feel right to me. YMMV

Boggs Creek in Jefferson City always had a pretty decent supply when I lived in that area.

    Ranges around St. Louis MO

You've got a couple of options, if you don't mind about a 45 minute drive. Reifsnider is southeast of Warrenton. Just a couple of places to shoot into a hillside. Pistol range and a couple of benches with a 100 yard range. Nothing very fancy at all, and if it's been raining you may not even...

Any love for the 709 Slim?

Wife picked up a 740 Slim at a Gun Show. Gun shot and functioned just fine, but is a handful to shoot. We've probably got over 500 rounds through it (mostly reloads) and I don't recall having any issues with it.

    Reloading Bench Help!?

This. Go to your local Lowes, Home Depot or Menards, go back to the door section and buy a damaged solid core door for the top. Typically you can pick one up for less than $20.00

    Picked up a CW380 today

I picked mine up about a month ago. After handling most of the pocket 380's I could locate it seemed to fit my hand the best. I've got a little over 500 rounds through it (mostly reloads) and only had issues with Fiocchi. It wouldn't go completely into battery with them. Had no problem with...

    Life Below Zero

Gym.... I don't think anyone has an issue with you disagreeing. I think it's about the perceived tone of your disagreement. You don't like it, and we get it. I can even appreciate it. You obviously feel you've done more with your life then the people on the show, so good for you. Some...

    What's Unique the best at?

I think you're about to find out that a lot of people swear by Unique in just about everything, and others swear at it. I'm in the latter group. I've tried it in 38 spl and 45 acp and I'm not real impressed. Works, just not for me. However, with most pistol powder hard to come by, I'm not...

    Ammo suggestion for...

MiniMags are always a good choice. However, with the current ammo situation, you might be left with fewer choices. Winchester M2's, Federal Automatch and Blazers all work great in mine.

    Pistol Load Advice

I'm also a big fan of Longshot. 6.7 grains under a 180gr Xtreme plated bullet is the most accurate in my Ruger SR40c.

You wanna know what I think is the main reason this "shortage" has lasted so long? It's simple, really. Progress and Technology. Think about it. Any of us who have lived through these shortages in the past, know what it was like. If you wanted it, you had to drive and find it. Now, you get...

    Walking/Jogging/Running Gear Picture Thread

PF9 in a Belly Band for my normal 3 mile run in the park. Every couple of weeks I'll do a "Boots and Utes" 8 mile on a trail through the woods. For that one it's an issued Colt 1911 in a Uncle Mikes that is secured to my leg to keep the bouncing down. Your set up makes my 50 year old hip hurt...

Which weight bullet for a 40S&W CCW

In my experience, no. My wife purchased a Taurus 740 (I tried to talk her out of it) and found out that shooting it was less than fun. I tried the light bullet route, but ended up staying with 180gr and switching to small charges of faster burning powder. Felt recoil was much better, so she...

    Scored some powder, need recipe

Looks and tastes like W231, Titegroup Thanks for the laughts! Can't help you with that bullet weight, but I've used it in the past and it worked well. If I were to come across more, I'd buy it.

And 45 Auto has it. There really isn't anything else to it. No conspiracy, not because the government bought it all, not even because the manufacturers aren't making it. Anybody want to bet how many people in Uruguay or Scotland are sitting on 15,000 rounds? Probably not many. That's the...
