I have read threads about M1's from the CMP, has anyone purchased a M1903or M1903A3 from the CMP? I was wondering about the quality of those guns. Also, some information regarding the difference between the Springfield and the Remmington, "S" stock, and the significance of the high serial numbers.

My 30-06 is a Savage model 40. The balistic info for factory loads I have been looking at is from Petersens annual hunting magazine for 2006. They have a list of ballistics tables from .17 - .460. Nice having a starting point.
