San Fransisco's last gun shop closes

    That's a downright dirty shame.

Trying to identify a Taurus .357 Magnum

Lone Star: Not sure what he was thinking by taking the finish off of it; sure he had a reason. I got a good deal on it so couldn't pass it up. I figured it would cost more to refinish it than it was worth...but hey, it works and would make a good "in the woods" gun that a person won't mind...

Trying to identify a Taurus .357 Magnum

Miked, Haywood, and Nathanael: Thanks for your feedback. I thought it was a 66, but guess the photos I was finding was of newer ones. Found a couple on a gun auction site after lots of digging that matches up. Looks to match up with what the three of you mention. Much appreciated!

Trying to identify a Taurus .357 Magnum

Need help identifying a Taurus revolver; would really like to know which model this is (and year made if possible). I came across this gun from a guy that sold it to me but didn't know a lot about it from the guy he bought it from years ago. It's a .357 Magnum. It has a 6" barrel, is a six...

    Winchester Ranger 9mm +P JHP RA9115HP

I've carried and shot this load. Very nice, not much recoil, and seems to do what it needs to do on impact of targets at the range.

    Another AK torture test....sort of

I've got an AK with over 3,000 rounds through it, and it fires just as good as it did when it had 100 rounds through it. On this weapon, I give it the 15 second cleaning job... AK's are like anything else...some work better than others, but they are all going to fail EVENTUALLY when...

How good a shot are you?

Good enough of a shot that I can move and shoot, and still hit the 8 ring at 20 yards. Takes years of practice, and a lot of range time...but anybody can get...and don't forget to keep your skills up!

    Salute!

When so many people run away, she actually took it upon herself to defend others. I'm sure she regrets having to take a life, but many hundreds of family members will be forever in her debt.

Possible reason CCW are not on media...

Talk to a lawyer first. Everybody is lawsuit happy, and there is a reason that "anything you say can and may be used against you in a court of law".

My first attempt at CTAC holster repair

I've sent CTACs back to the manufacturer. They have some of the best service you'll find...cost me shipping costs, and they've always covered it under warranty and shipped it back at their expense.

    A box to ship????

I've used golf club boxes, as well as rifle boxes. The local golf courses are good resources for golf club boxes, since most people that buy them there carry them straight out to the course to use.

Best 1st Gun For CC..What I Told My Son

A Glock 19 is a good choice. I have all the Glock 9mms, and the 19 is a very nice feel in average sized adult hands. I'm more partial to CCWing with a G26, but the 19 is what I carry when it gets colder out.

Glock 30 owner considers XD45-Compact... your thoughts?

Go a gun shop that has rentals, and try one out. What may feel good in the hand doesn't always shoot well in the hand.

    Help with CCW Options

This is easy. Go to a gun shop that has rental guns, and start shooting them to see what you like. I'm partial to Glocks, but many people aren't. What works for one person doesn't work for another. Try some different manufacturers and models out. Asking somebody online what you should get...
