Anyone using a revolver for NRA Bullseye?

Some are shooting the center fire match with the revolver on days that there are official points for the Distinguished Revolver Badge for warm-ups. You see them more and more. I use a SW Model 27 ( N frame ) as I found the SW Model 14 ( K frame) a tad small in the hand.

    Carrying 1911 as a Lefty?

Thanks rcmodel those are very helpful. And thanks to everyone for the replies. All of my 1911s are with the normal left side manual safety. Whenever I do use the safety I just flick it up/down with my left index knuckle. It seems that getting the ambidextrous safety would be the...

    Carrying 1911 as a Lefty?

I have several 1911s but shoot lefty. Been considering carrying using an IWB holster, but wanted opinions on the idea. I shoot Bullseye and have no experience carrying or drawing or using the manual safety in a draw. (Always kept off as not needed in Bullseye). Are there lefty 1911 carriers...

    1911 guide rod

(I had to look up Persiflage) but now that I know that I know it is French in Origin. And that i also know that Moxie is a Maine invented soda ( filled with French-Canadians), I must assume that 36.028 actually means 36 Thousand times more difficult. (As we all know, the Euros use decimal...

    1911 guide rod

Perhaps I misspoke. The full length ( but 2- piece) rods for me were 50 times harder to take apart. Having to break out the Allen wrench was becoming a pain for me and I didn't see any gain in performance. So i switched to GI.

    1911 guide rod

I changed my full length rods out of my 1911s. I am unaware of any real benefit from the full lengths. I think they were to give greater stability for Bullseye 1911s, but I don't think they have been shown to be any better. Regular GI rods are fine ( I see them all the time in Bullseye guns...

    Quality micro-red dot sights?

Aimpoint micro These are being used a lot by those with a little more of the well-heeled guys. http://www.opticsplanet.com/aimpoint-micro-t-1-red-dot-sight.html They seemed to be most liked due to their clarity, and super low lack of parallax. Also the problem of the battery running out...

Some people should not use a progressive press

I had the same concern as you. So I put a Powder Check on my Dillon 650 It will beep if there is too much or too little powder in the case. Here a YouTube of it. Pretty good. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=UafkPd06_F0&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DUafkPd06_F0

    How many reloaders

If I am on the Bullseye line and someone forgets their ammo and needs 200 rounds for the match, I'll certainly offer. I've give up 100 rounds here to there, or needed some myself on occasion. Or magazines, or their .22 or 1911, etc., and vice versa. They are all guys I have gotten to know, and...
