Take a look at the mossberg 930 spx. A lot of gun for the money and it comes with LPA sights set up just how you want them. I belive you can get it with a choate PG stock already on it but that may just be the turkey hunting model not sure about that.

Yea the 500 and 88 share many parts, the barrel being one. Finish doesnt bother me but the length is what im looking for. The only one havlinsales has is 24" If it was a 20" I would have bought it in a heart beat.

I picked up a old beater 1400 at cabelas last year for $130. Brought it home and put some duracoat in gun blue and refinished the wood. Light recoil and very pretty.

Academy sales the regular 500 with wood stock for $205. The 88 is around $160 to $175 I belive. I bought the 88 because I liked the safty location more than the 500.
