That is a nice gun. I dont how big her hands are but the grip of the 229 is fat (to me anyway) with wood grips. So if it feels too big be sure to get a set of the Sig factory plastic grips. That will slim it up. Then again there may be no issues. But having owned several 229s that is just my...

I have no complaints. I would like to buy another one since I sold off the one I had. Just be sure if you dry fire to read the manual in regards to the magazine to avoid a firing pin issue. Great gun.

well I dont like how the company operates but I love my old P85 & P89. They are tanks and reliable. As for a recent price increase.....I dont know if I would spend 8% more on any Ruger.

if she has bad wrists then you may have to try a few options. I would recommend seeing if you could rent some guns at a local range for her to try out. A S&W 638 +P Airweight perhaps? Its light to carry. However with her wrists it just my be trial and error. Good luck!
