I am looking for an inexpensive (maybe under $150) .22 auto that is small. I have seen only the phoenix arms .22s but they have a lot of safeties (maybe 2 switches?) and I heard that they are a pain to take the safeties off before firing. So, if you know of some other small .22 that is...
I am trying to find out if it is feasible to buy a short-barreled shotgun for home defense. You know; one that has a barrel that only extends to the end of the gas tube, but not longer. Like the kind you would expect a SWAT team to use as an entry gun. Are there any online gun shops that show...
I have noticed that some women prefer Kahr handguns. Their larger guns are still pretty small and are a good size for most women's hands. I assume some of you are recommending a revolver instead of semi-auto due to the strength required to pull the slide. The website "cornered cat.com" tells...
It is sort of interesting to me that they both died. I would think that they would call for an ambulance right away. Makes me think that the cops emptied their magazines on them. But of course it's just my speculation.
Sure I would...
... if I let things go that far. I would be so mad at the car-jacker that I would not want him to get away. But I sure hope that the car-jacker wouldn't be able to get into my car at all!
What I have seen is that JSP bullets do not expand as well, but they do penetrate deeper than JHP bullets. So if you use a bigger caliber such as .44 special or another large bullet, it shouldn't matter so much whether it is JHP or JSP.
It sure is hard to find a gun store where the younger crowd doesn't get treated like that. The store owners should know that they are shooting themselves in the foot by treating ANY customer poorly.
I "point-shoot" the same way as you do, from the hip. And it for self defense situations a person will usually need use the fastest way possible for shooting I would think. And that must be point shooting from the hip, right?
I was thinking about the best way to grip a pistol and naturally many people believe that the two-handed grip is best because you are able to steady the pistol better and control recoil better. Well, in my experience, holding a pistol with only one hand is more comfortable. But I still try to...
If the bullet has a large weight i.e. 230 grains, then it will be more likely to go through hard things like bones instead off of bouncing of a bone. So, I would use a heavy weight hollowpoint in .45ACP such as 230.
I am grateful for all of your replies, and I think that I will always be conscious of where my trigger finger is when I am holding my pistol: off of the trigger unless I WANT to pull it.
I have not been to any shooting schools yet in my life, and I was wondering if there is a school that teaches that it is okay to rest your finger on the trigger of your handgun while your gun is drawn. It seems to me that double action handguns such as Sig Sauers are made for this because of...
I have heard people who I believe are "experts" say that pretty much any load in .40 S&W is a good load, but you have to search a lot to find a good load in 9mm because many 9mm loads are just underpowered.
The CZ has a manual safety that you can use to carry the gun cocked and locked if you choose. Or you can carry the gun uncocked and with the safety off, just like a Sig Sauer pistol. Those options make the CZ very good IMO.
I'm glad that you went to your balcony instead of going down to the street where the man siphoning your gas was. You kept yourself away from a potentially dangerous situation!
