Who is Upsizing in Response to Recent or Past Events

Considering that it has been found out that the shooter had a tac vest with no armor and a non ballistic helmet... any of my carries, 9mm, 10mm, .44 spl, .44 mag, .45acp... would have made him have a very bad day. If there was a clear shot. Jim

    45 Super vs 460 Rowland

.45 Super is not .44 Magnum. 230 .45 vs 240 .44, you are looking at at LEAST a couple of hundred fps difference in similar barrel lengths. If you NEED .44 Magnum ballistics, then I would suggest stepping up to the .460 Rowland. MUCH closer comparison. Jim

    Rejuvenating the Terminator

I love a gun with patina, what I dislike is pitting and actual rust. I have experienced it enough to know that something with my bodys chemical make up will eat a blued steel gun. I am considering sending it to Mahovsky's for their Hard Chrome. I have read a lot of good things about them. This...

    Rejuvenating the Terminator

I am looking at this as a preventative step. I dont want to go to put it on the stand one night and see the start of rust or some pitting. I LOVE this pistol, it is an amazing shooter... and my favorite carry revolver. I want to insure it has a long life and makes it to my son as blemish free as...

    Rejuvenating the Terminator

Holster wear on the front sides of the cyl, scratch down to the metal on the right front of the barrel. I am a sweater... and have sweated the blue off of a couple of pistols. Especially down behind the grips. This one has not done that yet... YET. The bluing on it is a LOT tougher than on my...

    Rejuvenating the Terminator

My Terminator is showing some wear. Hell, it is a blued gun closing in on 30 years of age... and has been a carry piece most of its life. I want to send it off and get it refinished so that I have no wear or corrosion issues. If they can give it a once over and make sure it is in tip top...

Is the 1911 a Reliable Design?

Dude, you need to find someone else to build those 1911s then. See above statement. Ever think that all the modification MAY be why they are not running correctly? Actually... some still do. Jim

    Rock Island TCM Range Report

If you load Vmax, you will have to seat them deep... eating up space in the cartridge. SUPPOSEDLY, you should swap out extractors when you swap barrels and springs... leading to more evidence that the 9 and TCM are not related. However reports are that now swapping the extractor has not been...

    1911 without grip safety

Meh, they started as Essex 1911s. They were then modified to their current state. You can take a Chevy Vega, stuff a 350 in it, ford 9" rear, and lenco transmission... and its still a Vega. Same deal here. It may have features different than the issued 1911 or 1911 A1, but that design IS the...

    1911 without grip safety

2 of my 1911s are sans grip safety. Then again, the Combat Masters were sold that way. Jim
