Open Carry is Finally Getting Some Attention

Forgive me for thinking in terms of restraints of duty. For uniformed LEO's the force continuum goes something like this. 1. Uniform presence. Not bullet proof or super human but a symbol of authority. 2. Verbal commands under color of law. 3. Chemical agents. 4. hands,....soft then hard 5...

Open Carry is Finally Getting Some Attention

I'm headed out to work so not much time. Police carry openly because the uniform presence is the first step in force escalation, by being a visible deterrent. He also has chemical spray, and in most cases a taser or stun gun also visible. Irrational as public fear may be, it does exist, and...

Open Carry is Finally Getting Some Attention

This would actually depend in the criminal's intent, and the importance of the target. Secondly, by moving to another target, your exposed firearm has done harm to the secondary target, and kept you from having to be a useful solution to a problem.

Hmmmm,...compelling argument! LOL When you get your hairball up, tell me where I'm wrong.

Open Carry is Finally Getting Some Attention

I absolutely support the right to carry. What doesn't make sense to me is "open carry" for the sake of making a statement. I can see how people some will be intimidated by a room full adults purposely flaunting their firearms, saying, "look at me, I can, therefore I do!" I carry concealed...

Anyone get what this guy is aiming at?

On some level I understand his thinkng, but don't really buy it. We buy insurance in hopes we never need it, but also understand the day may come when we will. I have several hammers, nails are pretty safe in general, because ownership hasn't transformed me into a carpenter or a roofer. I...

    Convicted felons owning guns

I voted no, but tend to agree with paring out the non-violent types. I also think there are felonies on the books that are stretching a bit to get there. I also see issues with some "domestic assault" charges and convictions. TN for instance is one of those "somebody is going to jail" states...

    Hornady Lite Magnum Loads

He ya'll! Been a while. Have any of you ever attempted/succeeded in duplicating loads for Hornady Light Magnum loads in 30-06? Specifically the 165 gr BTSP at 3010 FPS and 180 gr. BTSP at 2900 FPS. Later,

The case of the MISSING LINKS

Hey folks. I suffered a computer melt down a few weeks ago and have yet to get it fixed. I had to switch over to my wife's system to keep up with email and such. Soooooooo, what's this have to do with missing links?????:) All of the links I'd collected on Obama's (and others in his...

    Weapons on Military Bases

According to the Military Police on Ft. Campbell Ky, LEO's can only carry when participating in an active investigation on post. Some other bases have a secure check in for weapons, but each is different. I usually stop at my gun shop as I go to Ft. Campbell and leave mine there. It's close...

Slide Lock Disengaging Upon Inserting Mag

Both of my glocks do this, but only when I intentionally slam the mag home.

Glock 30SF: The bulged barrel saga comes to a close.

Well, folks,..you know the story of my rabid discontent with Glock tech services over the refused warranty repair of my 30 SF. Then came insult to injury when they sent my gun back minus the mag. Needless to say I called and spoke to the tech who handled my claim and he apologized and said...

    Jennings Nine doctoring help.

Bufford,...I understand the way you see things. Thing is, I ain't wearin yer glasses, so don't expect me to see the way you do. I'm not shooting with or at you with it, so don't sweat the small s*&#! As for the actual recommendations, I thank you each and every one. I'll look for or load...

    Jennings Nine doctoring help.

I took the JN out today. It is improved, but I think I still have magazine issues. I'll start looking for a new or good one. There is a new wrinkle though. It often locks open while the mag still has rounds in it. Release the slide lock and it goes to battery just fine,...most of the time.:)

    Glock21SF or Glock30SF ?

I'm a real fan of the 30SF. It's a workhorse, very accurate, and conceals easily. I wish I could say something nice about their customer service,...but that's ben said.
