Worst "oops" you made with a firearm?

Was not getting the accuracy out of a rifle that I expected at a public range. Swore a few choice words. Looked up and there was a sweet 10 year old or so girl in the next lane with her dad. Her dad was not amused. Fortunately I haven't made any bad mistakes.

I think the NYTimes has given us an endorsement. :D

Court Officers 2A rights being violated!!

What is the rationalization for the Judge's order? Did she express one? I have a difficult time undetstanding what she believes this is the solution for. If someone already has a registered handgun (and you all do since you are court officers), why does she want to know if you have a long...

Why Does NJ have repressive gun laws?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Jersey#Large_cities_.28100.2C000_or_greater.29 Large cities (100,000 or greater) For its overall population and nation-leading density, New Jersey has a relative paucity of classic large cities. As of the United States 2000 Census, only four municipalities...

Do you have ammo for all the guns you own?

Yes, plus 3 cases of 7.62x54R and 100 rounds of .50 BMG for the guns that I don't own YET.

Goldman Sachs employees in NYC getting Pistol Permits

No, but why not an equal protection theory suit after McDonald in federal court? I think that is more likely to fly.

    "Gun Tests" magazine

In exactly the same way that Guns And Ammo and American Rifleman do not. They just provide another piece of information you can use in evaluating guns. Stores that have extensive rental selections are the best way to gather information, IMHO.

Very good day at a gun store.

"I didn't even know Colt made a .22lr AR-15. Guess I've been out of the loop on AR's lately. Sounds really cool, how much did it set you back? " It's a Colt/Umarex/Walther gun. Colt just markets it. I am not sure if Umarex or Walther makes it, one is the maker the other is the importer...

    More UK madness

They do elect these guys. The citizens over there are quite unhappy with their government right now. I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of them are turned out next election.

    Shipping Ammo USPS Is Illegal

Someone should contact their Blue Dog Democrat legislator and slip a removal of this prohibition as an amendment to a "must pass" bill a la the National Park Carry/Amtrack baggage amendments. :D It would be fun to see the liberals throw a tantrum again over another minor enhancement to the...

    Window stickers a good idea?

I would love a link for this one. I've driven my NRA stickered car through NJ and NYC, not to mention several provinces in Canada and the police have never pulled me over. I think that if they articulated that as PC they would be in serious trouble (in the USA).

Cool development (sorta) in Saudi Arabia

I just don't see small arms halfway across the world being any kind of a security risk to Americans. It isn't like they can teleport into an American Brady-sponsored victim disarmament zone where they could do some damage.

CIFTA explain it to me like I am a six year old.

How can it be signed when it requires 66 votes in the Senate to approve it (i.e. Senate "consent") and they have like 35-40 votes? I think they are going to be waiting for the next Senate and barring some large change in membership, the treaty will just continue to sit there.

Obama Administration Deferring To States On Medical Marijuana - Guns Next?

Sure it is - unless the boss says "Prosecutors - don't prosecute the law X - OR ELSE". Obama is showing that this is always a possibility (in fairness, this always happens because of limitations on law enforcement resources too - the government doesn't prosecute the tens of millions that copy...

Obama Administration Deferring To States On Medical Marijuana - Guns Next?

Ha - don't hold your breath, but this is sort of interesting to me as a matter of law. What the Administration is saying is, and I am paraphrasing them here, but even though marijuana possession and distribution is against the letter of the federal law, because it conflicts with state laws, the...

    PRK's new law

In what way? The Constitution's commerce clause grants powers to the Federal Government, it doesn't limit it to any state government. If anything, the states are assumed to have more power to regulate commerce within their borders than the federal government does.
