    Dumb question...

I would recommend the BSA International .22RF target rifle. Here you go: http://adamsguns.com/0s.htm PS - the name of the shop is a coincidence - not related, never done business with, usual disclaimer!

    Lee-Einfield SMLE MkIII

The straight dope on headspacing a No1 MkIII - To fit new bolt-head to Rifles No. l.—(Spare part bolt- heads, marked “S” on the top, are longer at the front.) Assemble the bolt-head to the bolt, insert it in the body, and test with .064-inch No. 1 gauge; should the bolt not close over the...

    Lee-Einfield SMLE MkIII

Sunray said "Have the headspace checked" - and that is great advice. However, even if the headspace is out, it is not a disaster. The SMLE bolt head unscrews and there is a range of sizes available to correct the headspace. If I remember correctly, there are about 6 available, in .002"...

    Using Imperial Sizing Wax

I use Imperial for all resizing and case forming. Struggled for years with all sorts and kinds of desperate lubes when trying to form 577/450 Martini Henry brass out of annealed CBC 24 gauge cases. It's a pretty radical reforming operation, necking the 24 gauge down to .577 and producing...

    Sellier & Bellot

Sell -ee-ay and Bell - ee - o Great ammo. I have .303 British cases which must be worn out but won't give in. More than 20 reloads and NO signs which would make me scrap them.

    aimed rifle fire by infantry?

I hesitate before throwing in my two penn'orth. From WW1 footage we have all gained an impression of the carnage resulting from going "over the top" in the face of fixed-line machine guns and aimed fire by massed rifles. But many still got through and many objectives were taken despite the...

Anyone in the UK? Question about buying components///

"I was planning on buying the bullets and brass here, and then carrying it across on the Eurostar". I have never done this, but as far as I know it breaks no law. Bonne chance!

    Reloading .303 British

I reload for my 1909 SMLE No1 Mk3. Everything from cast bullet plinking loads (20 grains of almost anything medium to slow burning) though to my own replication of the full service load using the 215 grain FMJ bullet. Its a joy to shoot with any load and very rewarding to the handloader.

    Let's see your 6.5x55's

My Steyr Mannlicher I LIKE this rifle. It is my first "plastic" after many years of oil-finish, great quality walnut. Even when I was serving, I managed to keep wooden furniture on my 7.62 SLR - but that was never more than a tool. Anyway, here it is...

Anyone in the UK? Question about buying components///

Afy, You can buy as much brass as you wish. You can buy as many non-expanding bullets as you wish. For expanding bullets, you must show authority on your Firearms Certificate (FAC). You must show your FAC to buy primers. You do not need to show anything to buy propellant...

RCBS ChargeMaster 1500 Combo, First Impression!

So, you visit Newbury - well, that's the gnat's knackers! You are just down the frog & toad from me - why not drop in in for a natter and a bacon buttie? We could discuss the linguistic divide! If you don't have time, give it the Spanish archer. All the best, Charles

If you replace the detergent with washing soda (Sodium Carbonate) (NOT caustic soda, NOT Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) ) - your results will be even better.

    Primer boo-boo

Could you narrow it down by a dimensional check? I recall that rifle primers are .006" "longer" than pistol. Just a thought - from a Scotsman, living in an expensive country, where I now have to show my firearms certificate to buy primers - and pay ridiculous prices - so I'm not going to...
