    Identification help Colt SAA replica?

I think I found it... A Spanish knock off for the Latin American market circa 1890-1920. Maybe worth $250-500 depending on condition and Tia one is rough. It's at an auction house, no price on it.

    Identification help Colt SAA replica?

Found this gun today. 5-1/2" barrel, 6 shot single action. The only markings are "44 cal" on the left hand side of the frame below the cylinder. A "48" stamped on the bottom of the frame and "colt" stamped on the top of the barrel. Sorry I didn't take better pics, I was in a rush. Any idea...

Looking for info on an old caplock musket.

Doing a ton of google searching I found some info on the barrel markings. The "P/IB" and the "M/1808" appear to line up with "Bartlett contract US Model 1808 Flintlock Musket.

Looking for info on an old caplock musket.

I picket this up at an estate auction last fall, just looking for any info on it? Rough idea of age...etc. It has very few markings. Smooth bore, caplock...

Whats your favorite deer hunting firearm and

My favorite and the one I've had the most success with is my Savage 99 in .300 Savage. Early 1960's era rifle and fixed 4x scope. My father shot his first deer with it and I shot my fist deer with it. It has since been retired to the safe though and only comes out when my father wants to join...

Ever traded a non-firearm for a firearm or vice versa?

I traded A Savage 111 and a Pre-ban Norinco underfolder for a $4000+ Snap on tool box. I have a surplus of guns I don't need and will never use, don't feel like going through the trouble of selling them off so I'm always scanning the craigslist barter section for people looking to trade stuff...

    the perfect 30-06 for hunting

My personal favorite 30-06 is my Savage 116 weather warrior, accustock & accutrigger, stainless finish. Any of the rifles you listed would serve you well, but I have a thing for the 550 American... Beautiful rifle.

Does it bother you to buy more than one gun at once

Not at all... I buy most of my guns online and have them shipped to my ffl. U have to drive 35 mins to pick them up when they come in so I try to buy in multiples... It makes the drive seem worth it. :)

When and what age did you buy your first gun?

I was given a couple guns as a kid but my first purchase was a Winchester 1300 defender about a week after my 19th birthday. I was moving from VT to SC by myself and wanted something to take along for home protection. After that my gun purchases were rare and sporadic until I was about 24...

    What is your rifles zero?

Pretty much every rifle I own is left at +2" @ 100 yards. This is everything from my AK's & AR's th my 30-30's & 30-06's. Most any shooting I do is in the 75-125 yard range. The +2" @ 100 yards is "close enough" for deer, coyotes or even social work out to 225 yards, I've never taken a shot...

    Your UNCONVENTIONAL door answerer gun

I have done it once or twice over the years... rather uncomfortable. I knocked and then got down off the porch, I wanted as much distance between me and the door as possible. Up here there is little or no cell phone service. So if you end up in a jam late at night on the side of the road...

    Your UNCONVENTIONAL door answerer gun

I understand, I live in a similar area... very rural, very quiet and at night hours can pass without a car driving by. I can understand taking basic precautions, and your response above pretty much mirrors the way I answer my door. In the 10 years I've lived in this house I've probably had...

    Your UNCONVENTIONAL door answerer gun

I'm a little surprised at some of the responses. Not answering the door? Calling the police if someone knocks on your door at night? In the 10 years I've been in my house I've had a few people unexpectedly knock on my door at night. I answered the door every time after first...

Will your AK-47 Bolt stay open?

I use an empty case to hold it open. The range I use is a private membership range and is almost always empty so when I'm alone I don't worry about it. But when others are there using an empty brass 30-06 case works.
