I did 2 tours and no one had "bring backs', only exception may be field grade officers.
War 2 Axis power bring backs could have up to a 50% increase of value with the paper work. With out the papers it not a bring back, it's a gun show story. NO GI's brought back their personal...
I got to agree with OF on the term “authentic", that's reserved for the real deal. Nothing wrong with a 2nd Gen Colt Walker or a 3rd Gen Colt Walker.
My F1600 is about as authentic looking as I can make it but it's still a 2nd Gen Colt.
This is AUTHENTIC

The street prices I have seen put it as the same as a DW Valor in duty coat. Many feel the Valor to be the best or one of the best 1911's you can buy. I think the street price well drop in a year or so, 12-1400 bucks I just may try one out.
You want to inspect the crossed canons very close. This stamp was applied after the pistol was finished so you should see "some" white metal. You can see it here.
This Rem-Rand is original finish and as close to unissued condition as I've seen.
I put 2 mags down range a few days ago, it...
Thanks for all the input. I looked at 1911's until my eyes failed. Have a Valor coming from the mid-west, should see it next week. $1780 in my paw.
Les Baer looks very interesting, saw a few used at very nice price ranges.
Thinking about a Dan Wesson Valor in Duty Black, non V-Bob. Anyone own this model? Looked at Brown and at Wilson, but not sure I would could appreciate the difference. Cost is not really a factor.
I don't feel a lot of difference from my usgi 1911a1's compared to my Colt Gold Cups or...
I paid $160 for a near perfect MAS 36 about 3-4 years ago. I saw one sell recently for $375 that was in nice condition. I would check the MAS section on "Gunboards", the grenade launcher could add significant value.
As I recall some of the ASM/Colt marked barrels were bought by a well known importer as "parts" after ASM went belly up and could have ended up as parts in sig series guns.
I've been shooting a lot of BP in my Vaquero's and Black Hawk's. Every few hundred rounds I pull the grips, spray liberally with Ballistol and blow off with the compressor. Once a year they get a full tear down and I'm not seeing any ill effects.
Nice review, I've been using the 3" Bull Dog as my primary carry piece for about 6 years now. Tried 180 and 200 gr and settled with the 180gr jhp's. Have not had a problem with loose screws to date.
Next to a Smith 640.
