Simmons Aetec battery replacement (illuminated reticle)

On the rheostat, the part that turns the power on and controls the intensity, you should see a large slot. Hold the rheostat with one hand and insert a quarter with the other hand and unscrew. After removing the cover you should see a flat disc battery(2032 I think) remove and replace. When you...

Forum on "no-knock" raids at Cato

Amen to the above, they might lose some evidence or I might lose my life? No contest in my book. In very, very limited instances only.

How do you resist the siren call of a new gun?

I try the old Jedi mind trick. "These are not the guns you'relooking for." Hasn't worked yet but I'm still perfecting it.

There are many good 1911s available. How does the Kimbers fit for the money?

As stated earlier I have seven Kimber's. I bought all of them used. They're great shooters, better than I am truth be known. Never had any kind of hiccup (knock on wood). I will continue to buy them as they are a great value for the money. Only Wilson makes a better pistol IMHO, and the prices...

can i load my 45acp with no crimp?

I checked all my reloading manuals, some going back 30 years. Speer, Hornady, Lyman, etc. Nowhere in any of them could I find anything about the .45 ACP headspacing on the extractor. It headspaces on the chamber rim and the boltface. So says every reloading book I own.

While I'm waiting for my brass to clean.......

"Never light three cigarettes off one match." My Grandfather, who was in World War one told me this. At night you could strike a match and light a cigarette or maybe two. If you tried more than that the German snipers would have enough time to sight in on you and Kapow!

    Bit a $1500 bullet today.

Jason Go with the Smith Vortex, I have one on my Scout. They are amazing. It is truly a flash Eliminator. If it works on the 18" barreled Scout then I'm sure it will work on a Loaded. Range report!! R.T.

Powders DO vary from batch to batch !

That is another reason you should always double check your powder measure when adding new powder. On powders I use alot I try to purchase several pounds from the same lot, or a 4 or 8 pound container.

    Taurus Pt 1911

NATE Nice Kimber, I have the same model. Great pistol, great accuracy, superb reliability. I also have a RIA G.I. model. It shoots really well, you can't go wrong with it. I use Wilson 47Ds in all my 1911 pistols. Using the Wilson mags it will shoot anything I feed it.

    Taurus Pt 1911

I have 6 Kimbers and 1 PT1911. The Taurus is as accurate as any of the Kimbers. After 1500+ rounds I have had zero malfunctions. It is IMHO one Heck of a pistol. I would not hesitate to purchase another one tommorow.

    Armalite "Eagle Arms" recievers/rifles?

"Eagle Arms" is Armalite's budget line of recievers. Physically and dimensionally the same. The finish is the only real difference, the Armalite's are a little nicer finish wise. If you're looking for a target or match trigger buy the Eagle Arms and get an aftermarket trigger. You can...
