Poll: Which 9mm Makarov? Bulgarian Makarov or CZ-82?

As much as I love the original Makarovs, the CZ-82 is so much more gun despite the flaky paint. Plus as a lefty, it's a no-brainer.

How long does it take to get approved at sigforums

Yeah, been here since before the demise of the original Firing Line, but when all the splitting occured, I rarely post here. I do come to check out the classifieds and read up on some of the more esoteric firearms. Like Siglite above, this was my first post in ages.

How long does it take to get approved at sigforums

To the original poster--patience is a virtue. SIGforum is a good place, like thehighroad. Dorian put it best in his previous response. Seems like the same conspiracy theorists who love to bash on SF still take every opportunity to do so. It's like a sore that won't heal with some of you...

Sig P239 To buy or not to buy

When I want a caliber bigger than 9mm but easier to carry than a SIG P220, I reach for my 239 in either 40 or 357SIG. Accurate, easy to shoot, slim grip.

    New Sig P229 SCT

I love those mags! Will they work in a 228?

Got my Pistol back from SIG quick question..

Sometimes SIG will refurb a pistol and use replacement parts from police turn-ins and other sources that have been refinished. I have a 226 that had the same treatment. Dunno if your 229 has a serial# on the slide, but check and see if it matches your frame. Mine came back with a different...

New Family Member. Officially a Sig guy!!!

Welcome to the SIG family. I carry a 220 regularly; it's the only gun I can trust to work 100%.

Anyone Catch Zak's Article In "Book of the AR"?

A very informative write-up, I learned a lot about how Armalite has upgraded the little things to make for a more reliable rifle. Plus anyone who wears a USN hat and gets it published in a magazine is okay by me.

    Boom Headshot - .50 style

That is pretty scary. Thankfully no one got hurt any worse than it could've been.

.223 Failure to Eject-round stuck in chamber

Here's a pic of the stuck case. Yucky hard blackened crud stuck to the case. In the chamber, it looked the same, but corresponded with the non-black spots on the case. You can also see how the extractor tore the rim.

.223 Failure to Eject-round stuck in chamber

Thanks for the warning, powderman. I was only half-serious about the Dremel. But it's the serious half that would've done bad things to my rifle. :)

.223 Failure to Eject-round stuck in chamber

W.E.G., I finally got the case out. I tried freezing the complete upper in order to cause the steel case to contract, but that didn't work. I ended up soaking it in liquid wrench penetrating oil (didn't have enough Kroil to stick down the barrel). I banged on the case with a brass rod I...

.223 Failure to Eject-round stuck in chamber

Thanks Powederman! The etching comment with Kroil still kinda bugs me. Wonder if there is any truth in this. I've used Kroil for everything and I don't think I've had an issue yet.

.223 Failure to Eject-round stuck in chamber

Hi guys. Sadly, the same exact thing happened to me this weekend during a carbine class. I shot 1000 rounds of Wolf 'polymer' coated 223 through my AR, and had 5 cases stick in the chamber. 4 of them were fairly easy to remove with a little coaxing from a cleaning rod and some light tapping...

M16 OR MINI 14 FOR FIGHTING IN VIETNAM?

You think this has to do with the cast parts in the mini-14?

Ruger Mini-14 and Golden Bear Ammo

I've fired several hundred rounds of the old-style lacquered steel case Tula ammo through my Ranch, no probs so far. One thing that's a little disconcerting is that the charging handle will often be caught by the spent cases as they eject, causing a pretty spark when the steel meets steel.

    Sig GSR

I have an early Caspian frame/slide GSR that had the typical internet issues (tilted hammer due to out-of-spec frame drilling, a loose extractor, stripped grip bushing, super-tight barrel bushing). All were fixed by SIGARMS. I then gussied up the pistol at Novak's. It's flawless. By far...

    Sig P220 Magazines

I shoot my 220's a lot, and have 2 dozen of the current factory stainless 8-rounders. Yeah they're expensive but 100% reliable. They also are a little harder to load than other mags. For carry I have a few of the older 7-rounders that are also 100%, and use the current 8-round stainless as...
