    Speer 38 special vs 9mm

The numbers show this to be true, but it all depends on which gun you are more comfortable shooting when it comes to actual performance. A hit is a hit, and a miss is a wasted bullet.

    1911 or AR

Cost is really irrelevant. I have a $900 Mid-Length AR that shoots great to 540 meters. I also have a $400 AR that shoots great to 300 meters. To go along with that I have a $320 1911 bought new that shoots 5 1/2" groups with Federal maroon box, large primer practice loads at 50 yards for 16...

    RIP RC Model sad news

I am coming back to the board for the first time in a long while, and this is sad news to me. RC model helped me a lot with my questions, and was never, never critical about the topic. RIP. My condolences to his family.

    Single action .380's?

When getting a Bersa Thunder, I suggest getting the "Combat" model for the extra round, better sights, and awesome grip. Even though the grip is green.. LOL Everyone who has held or shot the Combat model has had to go get the pistol My other recommendation if not looking for a single stack is...

    Powder for gentle 9mm loads

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but a 125 grain conical nose projectile. Using 5.0 grains of Unique.

    Ruger 44spl ?

I don't know, but I wish they'd make another run of the Lipsey Bisley Blackhawk on the medium frame real soon.

    Couple AZ Foxes

My grandfather would kick my bottom if I were to kill a fox, but he liked to run them with horses, and drink moon shine.

    9 mm loads

I think a standard with 124 grain 9mm bullets will be 5 grains of Unique. 5.8 grains being the maximum. You can also use the load data from Alliant Powders. Just look it up on google. They show the maximum so be sure to subtract 10% from the load show on their site. go to the hodgdon.com...

    .30-30 125 gr

125 gr Sierra and VV N120 is a great blend for managed loads. My kids use this load. It runs 2150 feet per second, and has killed deer to 100 yards. They are super accurate, also. This load is in any books. Use at your own risks.

Did I make the right choice in buying my first Firearms?

Solid. I love my Mav 88.

    How did I do?

I misunderstood, jumbojim. I am glad you got it worked out. That is a nice looking pump shotgun. I'd be proud to own it.

    How did I do?

That is why you always take cleaning rods to the range with you.

    Single action .380's?

Look into the Bersa Thunder 380. The DA/SA is nice, and the Double Action is a very easy pull. I carry one, and it is a very reliable firearm, and with Underwood Ammo makes the .380 into a nice defense pistol. Other than that you are looking at the Sig P238, or the Browning 1911-380.

    which one?

Neither. For the same money you can get a Bersa 9mm which is a good gun for the cost. Are you going to carry this gun as a concealed carry?

    New Magpul Flip G2

I found a good price on a rear Magpul flip up sight. Decedided to buy it. I have an AimPoint on the rifle, but needed a backup sight. On the other AR I have a DPMS A2 rear sight, but for this light weight telescope stock, slick side model I wanted something lighter. We'll see how it goes...

    How did I do?

I figure it is fine for a single arm pump. As far as the Mav 88 comment. I'd take my 88 over most shotguns I see today. I have had it for over 5 years, zero failures, shoots slugs like a rifle, and has been know to win some money at the trap range. Oh! and the Mav 88 has a double arm pump...

    Best Powders for 25-06, 270

IMR 4350, Winchester 780 Supreme. or RL-19 maybe. Check your books. My .25-06 like IMR 4350 with 115 Combined Tech coated bullets.

    Good Cheap Low-Recoil Revolvers?

Do they still make the Heritage .32 H&R Magnum. That would be a nice 6 shooter if it shoots as good as my .22 LR/ .22 Mag. I have to say that I really like my Heritage, and have shot it a lot. More than a lot.

    Good Cheap Low-Recoil Revolvers?

I have a Heritage 22LR/22Mag with a 6.5" fixed sight barrel. Very accurate, and fun to shoot if you can find ammo.
