CDNN is running a sale on Tacticals, through tomorrow, for $599. That's a smoking deal!

    Ruger Mini-14 Tactical

I've owned two of them. I bought one of the early production tacticals when they first hit the gunshops. Accuracy was much better than the old style Mini's. The best that I got was 2.5 inch groups at 100 yds, scoped, after trying everything available on the commercial ammo market. I soon...

    Marlin XL7 anyone have one

I have two of them. One in .270 and the other in 30-06. The .270 shoots under an inch with Remington Core-Lokt 130 gr soft points, with Leupold VXI3-9X40. The 30-06 shoots slightly over an inch with Federal Fusion 165 soft points, and has a VXII 4-12X40 AO optics on it. I've floated the...

    marlin xl7

Yes, floating it reduced the groups (3-shot) from around 1.4 MOA to about .9 MOA. That's with standard Remington 130 gr. Core-Lokt factory ammo. The rifle does exhibit a desire to be free floated. I would dearly love for someone to make a quality fiberglass stock for this rifle, so I...

The trigger is NOT A LICENSED COPY OF THE SAVAGE TRIGGER. I'm not sure where you get your information, but it doesn't even operate like the AccuTrigger. In short, the inside lever of the Marlin trigger operates like that of a Glock, the rest of the mechanism is a fully adjustable trigger...

M1 Carbine "Bolt Stuck", action will not open.

Both of those carbines are clearly later production commercial Universals. You can tell by the stamped sheet metal op rods. Be very careful taking a mallet to those, as Universal stamped op rods have a reputation of breaking.

Bayo lug on an m1 cabine

You will need to remove the front sight, slide the current barrel band forward off of the barrel, install the bayo lug barrel band, and reinstall the front sight. Just a word of caution, M1 Carbine front sights are almost always extremely tight on the barrel, and without a sight puller tool...

    marlin xl7

I bought one in .270 several weeks ago. I used it this morning (6:45AM) to head shoot a very large wild hog at 86 yards. Mine shoots great (around one-inch groups) at 100 yds with Remington 130 gr. Core-Lokt soft points. These rifles are well worth what they sell for.

    Leupold Vari-X II - 3-9X Parallax Problem?

Picher: That's a lot of parallax at 100 yds. I would definately call Leupold and get them to fix that.

    Remington 770

I purchased a 770 Youth Model in .243 for my 12-yo daughter last year. It's purpose is to hold her over, until such time that she can grow into the sport. It's extremely accurate (1.2 MOA) with regular Remington 100 gr Core-Lokts. It's not a top shelf rifle, but it's reasonably well made, and...

    source for M1 carbine magazines?

Yes! KY Imports has them, still in the old WWII greased wrapper. The first batch of 10 that I ordered were immaculate after I unwrapped them, and scrubbed the 60+ year old cosmoline off of them. The last batch of 10 that I purchased, 3 of them had a few minute specks of rust on them. These...

    Glassbead finish on 642

You cannot just glassbead an aluminum frame weapon. It must be either anodized or sealed in some other manner, otherwise the aluminum will oxidize. I would be willing to bet that S&W went to work on a solution pretty darn quick when all those silver aluminum j-frames started showing up in...

    New Snubby.

Thanks Goose. Yes, San Antonio, and Texas in general, is a great place to live and raise a family. I've spent the last 40+ years here, and have travelled all over the United States. 9 more years to retirement, and I'm headed north to either Wyoming or Montana. I kind of like winter, and we...

    New Snubby.

Well, I carry Smith 640-3, .357 as an off-duty weapon, and I honestly don't think that there is any other revolver made anywhere that can compare to it in quality. I will however admit that I have NEVER gotten a bad Rossi 5-shot, or anything made by Taurus, and I've owned a bunch of each of...

    New Snubby.

I've owned a couple of 68's and 88's over the years, and never had a problem with them. All of the ones that I owned were Interarms imported guns. The current production models appear much better constructed. I say shoot the fire out of it, and see what happens. The price was definately right!
