I was pretty much ready to purchase a new LNL. Guess I'll be waiting a couple more weeks. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh Lee has GOT to be kidding me! THREE hours!!!!

I use a plastic peanut butter jar to collect my primers from my pro1000. I drilled a hole in my bench under the press, and screwed a skippy peanut butter lid (with a hole in the topof it) to the underside of the bench. I then screw the empty plastic container onto the lid. problem solved...

    Just loaded my first cartridge!

Congrats! great feeling isn't it? I remember it like it was a month or two ago. . .:scrutiny: Oh yeah, it was! :D Like it's been said, touching off the first round feels really good.

Reconditioned Pro-1000. What else is needed?

smoke said what I was hinting at. If it doesn't come with all of the goodies, a brand new one would be more cost effective

Reconditioned Pro-1000. What else is needed?

Discouraged--squib on first magazine of reloads

Tam, Ahh, I see. I was lucky enough that someone had suggested in a class I took that I purchase a dowel and put it in my range bag, "just in case". I wasn't even reloading at the time I put it in there. I was glad I had it when I experienced my first squib a couple of weeks ago. It kept me...

    Lee Pro 1000 Press

I got the Lee Pro1000 this January. I love it. For the cost of a caliber conversion on some other presses, I got a fully progressive, auto indexing, case feeding press. I added the bullet feeder and the case collator. The bullet feeder is OK with 230gr fmj rn, but has some trouble with...

Discouraged--squib on first magazine of reloads

gunsmith for a stuck bullet? Couldn't you simply place a dowel down the muzzle of the barrel, and tap it out?

    Lee Turret Press

Is your seating die the seat/crimp die from Lee? I found that if I try to crimp more than .471~2 with the seat/crimp die on my pro1000, I can bulge the case, or get a bit of a roll crimp started. Just a thought. PK

    Digital scales on ebay

never tried one, but for 20$ it seems like it would be worth a shot on second thought, maybe not. . . here's a link to a informational blurb of the company that makes those scales http://www.digitalscale.com/brands.htm#Rite

    Lid on tumbler or not?

I would keep it on simply to keep the media in the tumbler, and not all over the floor. I guess not inhaling lead particles would be a plus too  :D

    Reloading in the basement

I got moved to the basement about one month ago when my oldest child moved back home. 2nd floor to the basement lickety split. I'm right next to the furnace also. Heck, I'm right next to the oil tank. I have a barrier between me and the tank, and I have the primers/powder as far from the...

    primer problems

I can't chamber the rounds, the cases are buckled or I can't fire the primer, the primer is in backwards. Dud box! That sounds like the perfect answer. Many Thanks

    primer problems

What do you guys/gals do with cartridges that, for whatever reason( upside down primer, bulged brass, doesn't look quite right) you need to dispose of the brass, but don't want the live primer floating around?

    Lee Pro1000 question

buy a couple what? Another pro1000? Sure. A lee turret press or loadmaster? Maybe. Either way, send me a PM with press information, and a price.

    Lee Pro1000 question

Yup, I didn't think about the actual shell plate. the lack of a fourth position would definitely be a problem. I was looking more at the indexing mechanism, and the turret head. Hmm. Maybe it's time for a loadmaster. Saw one used for sale locally for fairly cheap$ :)

    Lee Pro1000 question

I'm just curious, and thinking(typing) out loud. . . From what I can tell, the Lee Turret press and the Lee Pro1000 share the same base. I know the shell plate carrier is different, but, are the columns, and the die holders the same? If they are, is there any reason that I couldn't convert...

    Tumbler question

I'm basically in the same boat as you. I figure it will need changing when it no longer cleans and shines my brass in a "normal" amount of time.

Related to any famous shooters or founding fathers?

Ahh what the heck, I'll chime in. My family is directly decended from John Q. Adams. My Family(both sides) have been in the same area for a minimum of 7 generations. Names like Hopkins, Steere, Adams, Williams are littered throughout my lineage.

    Y'all have me worried now

Thanks again for all of the advise. It is appreciated. When I first got my press, a Lee Pro 1000, I made many, many dummy rounds (no primer/no powder) I did this to familiarize myself with the press, and to check for COL. I would then measure length, and run the cartridge through a max...
