Your Dillon 650 swags primer pockets? How did you set that up? If it is in another thread please just give me a link.
Thank
John
Never mind............you're not talking about your press.
I'll start by answering my own thread.
For my personal reloading I like clean deprimed and decrimped only. I like to size my brass my way and sure don't want someone else trimming my brass for me. Some things I just like to do my way. Trying to find out if I'm an oddball. :uhoh:
What are your preferences when buying once fired brass?
I know there is the old commercial vs military, but to get past that ....
If military then: (specify pistol or rifle)
No processing
Clean
deprimed and de-crimped
add neck sizing
add full length sizing
add trim to...
S&B Military?
The odd thing is; I find S&B on occasion in my lots of once fired military brass. I know there is no NATO stamp but none the less they show up. I have no explanation just passing on the info.
I guess it would be helpful if I gave a background to the tale. I own a small company...
For good measure I load 40SW at 1.130-1.135. It is not that unusual for a bullet to get set-back on occasion. At 1.124 there is not much room for error with set-back. Also a 165gr bullet will give you a little more room for safety.
I think the point is that the first 4 responses did not address the person's stated issue.
I see nothing wrong with providing an answer to the issue THEN giving an opinion on (whatever). But, to just tear down the man's equipment without providing an answer is just WRONG.
Just calling it...
"IMHO, any supposed or percived differences in recoil due to burn rate of various powders at equal pressures are trivial and will be lost in the noise of the BOOM1"
Not so in competitive action shooting. In action shooting it makes the difference in a very REAL (objective) way. The scores...
We really should not compare shotguns, rifles, and pistols. Even revolvers and autoloader pistols have some differing characteristics.
The velocity of the slide will change somewhat with some powders and therefore change perceived recoil. I think this is one reason for the fast powder heavy...
A good place to read about this is on pistol competition forums such as http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?act=idx .
Faster powder and heavier bullet usually equates to faster sight recovery and lighter perceived recoil. Slower burning powders continue the "push" longer making us...
I am going through the same issue. I am going to try a Fiber optic front sight. I have on order a set of Dawson Precision sights. As long as I can form a correct sight picture it should work. www.brianenos.com has a lot on this issue. It seems that the older shooters are competing just fine with...
Do a search on the BrianEnos forum. A lot of folks there reloading and shooting tons of bullets. What I found over there is there are lots of folks shooting plated bullets through glock barrels. For peace of mind do your own research though.
