30-30 lever action hands down. Or most any other lever action. Reasons? Plenty of Power, Fairly Light, Decent Capacity, Quick Repeating, short enough barrel for the house, long enough to reach out a couple hundred yards, and Supreme Reliability what more could a man ask for?
