125 gr. hp's out of a 2" Ruger sp101 are snappy but manageable. I have fired many of those rounds out of mine. SP101's are built like tanks. I find those less punishing than 38 +p out of an alloy J frame.

No, it doesn't decock, but it's very easy to deactivate. It's a simple two position safety lever, up is on, down is off. And you can't rack the slide with the safety on. Also, there is no magazine disconnect on this gun. It will still fire without the mag.

I'm referring to the single action pull. It measures 7.5 on my RCBS trigger pull scale, and it is gritty feeling. Cocked and locked, or not, call it whatever you want, I'm more comfortable carrying an auto pistol with a safety.

Clamp that blade in a vice, wrap a piece of leather around the barrell, and tap with a "wooden" mallett. It's just stuck in there. It's gotta come out with enough persuasion.

Ditto the nickel cases, they seem to be very thin walled. I have had many .38 spl cases with splits in the side, and almost always a nickel case. I inspect my cases very carefully before I reload them, and rarely have any trouble with other calibers, but I throw out a lot of 38 cases.

It's a Fist open top pancake holster. Mine is made for a 2", but they are custom fit, so you can get one for a 3".

I prefer the Pachmeier compac grip to the Hogue. I carry my SP101 concealed daily, and the pac's are less bulky yet very confortable for shooting magnum loads at the range.

I installed one in a 1911, .... big mistake. Reliability went down the tubes. Don't waste your money.
