I bought a couple of thousand rounds of .22 LR HP, Federal and Remington. I've been shooting the Rems using my Ruger MKIII Hunter. I shoot at 25 yds and consistently hit the bulls eye, a group of about 2 inches. I also use an old Marlin semi-auto rifle using scope shooting 100 yds and consistently manage tight groups also.
My question, does HP effect accuracy? Since the tip has a hollow point it would seem that it would not be as aerodynamic as a non-HP. But I still get good groups meaning I'm either lucky or just a good shot. I haven't shot non-HP so can't compare. All the shells I have are HP.

HP has no effect on accuracy, it's just which one(s) your gun likes. My BL-22 shot stingers into 1" @ 100yards, while my 10" stainless bull barelled MKII didn't like 'em at all. I won't shoot Remingtons though, as they're by far the filthiest ammo I've ever seen. My MKII will start jamming after 100 rounds or so of 'em...

The most accurate bullets made in the world for center-fire match rifles are HP's.

If the bullet is of high quality, with a flat base, and balanced, the point makes no differance what so ever.
