I called a couple days ago to thank the woman that had been so helpful. I asked about when the NRA might do this again, She said it was typically around the holidays. It was extended this time, because of the elections. But it is over for now.
I hope it can be set up again so it's easy to play sponsor & signing up is nothing more than a phone call. But she said somebody had apparently done some sort of an open post on the internet & they were swamped. Not that being swamped with new Life Members is a bad thing. But they were not prepared for it. So they "may" put some sort of restrictions in place next time around.
There is apparently no trail to my membership number, that shows who I sponsored when done by phone. I'd asked, because I was curious about the "real" total. For all that joined by phone, I hope there has been no issues & you're getting some notification that verifies the membership. For those that mailed checks & personal info ( before the phone option was set up ), I do have a paper trail there. So if you're one of those folks, and are having any issues, fell free to contact me, and we'll see if we can't get it straightened out.
