5mm pellets?

I have an old pellet gun that calls for 5mm pellets but I have never found any. Anybody got an idea?

The thing is solid brass and if I flare a regular pellet, it shoots very accurate, and heard.

I have shot the .22 pellets out of a 5mm pellet gun and they seem to work ok.

I've searched high and low for 5mm pellets I called every airgun supply on the internet to no avail.

My Sheridan Blue Streak uses .20 cal pellets.
Offhand I do not know if .20 cal is close to 5mm

    Thanks SDC!

Jungleman, I think that’s the same one I have. Any idea how many FPS you get?

Thanks that helps a bunch. The places I've called were totally clueless when I asked about their products.

I believe 850 fps with the heavy pellets. Go to the Sheridan webb site for more info

Chrono data for my Silver Streak Sheridan.
    (All Sheridans are .20 cal/5mm)
The manual for my Sheridan lists 8 pumps as max, btw.

    Sheridan "Ash can style" pellets

    6 pumps -- 540fps
    8 pumps -- 582fps

    Beeman Silver Jet pellets

    6 pumps -- 610fps

Beeman Silver Bear pellets (very light pellets)

    6 pumps -- 630fps
    8 pumps -- 675fps

These guns are LOUD. Pumped 8 times, this gun sounds about twice as loud as my .20 caliber R1 that will shoot well over 800fps with light pellets.

At the Crossman web site it lists Sheirdans that are .177, .20 ,.22
cal. My Sheridan is about 28 years old. I believe the manual says max of 10 pumps for mine. I will double check when I get time.

The .177 & .22 guns are actually Benjamins.

Benjamin & Sheridan were separate companies that merged. They kept their lines separate, although the guns were similar (and got more similar over the years). They sell the 5mm (.20 cal) guns as Sheridans and the .177 & .22 guns as Benjamins.

Crosman bought the merged company sometime back.
