88 coyotes harvested during Varmint Hunt

Two hundred and sixty-six hunters harvested 88 coyotes at the "VCW Memorial Varmint Hunt" Saturday, Feb. 8, and Sunday, Feb. 9.
The harvest was organized by the VCW Memorial to set up scholarship funds for high school seniors advancing to college. This year's contest drew in enough money to award four $1,000 scholarships. Two Flagstaff and two Winslow seniors will receive the scholarships.

The VCW Memorial, established in 1993, is in its 10th year of funding educational scholarships.

Total money brought in by the hunters who registered before the event with entry fees of $40 for two-man teams and $75 for three-man teams is still being calculated.
