I've got a buddy of mine that wants me to find him one and get me to put it together if need be... He just saw a picture of one in Shotgun news and now he wants one.. Only problem is the place the add is for is only LE/Mil and Burst fire..

I know I've seen the knockoffs of them before, I just can't for the life of me remember where or know if there's any decent ones.
 
Bobcat Weapons makes a decent copy. I guess it would be one of the next best things to the H&K. I've shot one before and it did well @ 25 yards.

Cartridges are fed either from a 10 round or 30 round magazine. The high quality and unsurpassed reliability of this firearm make it exciting to shoot and a must for any collection.

makes me think you'd have to buy their mags which can't be cheap.. I'm going ot try and see if I can't find ones that use stock parts... Especially the MP5K front.. just with a longer barrel... I'm sure it's out there I just need to find it..


I'm also going to have to see if I can't find some sold as pistols with the short barrels.... I don't know if that exists but it can't hurt to try..

If sold with short barrels, I believe they are a class III SBR w/$200 transfer tax. According to people I trust, the Bobcats are good. Haven't seen any in person though. :)
 
The Bobcat guns are Special Weapons under a different name. They're not bad, but you might want to know who's behind them.

"Vulcan Arms" is Hesse by another name. IMO, they should be avoided.

Vector is a good company, but I believe they only offer 5.56 HK clones (HK33/53).

Ohio Rapid Fire has a good reputation.

POF-USA hinted that they would be getting HK-94 style receivers, made on HK tooling, before long, but nothing solid as yet. Currently, they offer everything needed, but the receiver, to build a HK 94.
 
I would strongly suggest avoiding Bobcat/Special Weapons unless you want a project gun. They are unlikely to work out of the box, and there is no such thing as calling the guys back up for help.

I also have heard good things (but only secondhand) about Ohio Rapid Fire.


Myself, I would get an UZI instead. Originals are not that much really, and the Vectors are even cheaper. A steal compared to what even a clone 94 costs. I was gonna do this with the profit from my (then working) SW-5, but instead went to the precision rifle route with the cash, so can't tell you how it would have worked out.
 
I was here when my co-worker took delivery of his bobcat bw-5 from UPS. We shot approx 200 rds thru it that day with no problems. Guess he just got lucky.
 
Ohio Rapid Fire is tooling up to stamp their own HK94 receivers. ORF and Investment Grade Firearms are supposed to make the best 94 clones. Without going NFA you will have to get it with a 16" barrel that looks kinda goofy, unless you get a fake suppressor over it.

Both of those places will install 3 lug barrels and the flapper mag release too. I'm waiting for the AWB so I can get one from ORF with a threaded barrel and the A3 collapsing stock.
