Anyone in Iraq need 7.92 Kurtz (StG-44) ammo

Greetings. For those stationed in Iraq currently, does anyone have a legitimate need for 7.92 Kurtz ammunition? Addressing this to S-2 shops or equivalent who run fam-fires, museum collections, etc.

In our random confiscating/reissuing, we came across a couple hundred rounds or so of 7.92 Kurtz ammo, some brass case in German boxes, some steel-case. If you have a need for such, please PM me with your DSN number, and I'll see if I can box it up and put it on the next convoy passing through your area from Al-Anbar.

I'm sure this seems like excessive work to most people, but I'd kill for StG-44 ammo if I'd found a rifle for it, so I can only assume that somebody out there could use this, rather than toss it in the burn pit. (Also have a couple .303 Bren mags if anyone needs those). Good luck to other obsessed scroungers and packrats across the AOs.

If you have an VZ-52/57 (7.62 Soviet) mags, I'll certainly take those in trade. -MV

I guarantee you there are more than a few collectors with Class III Stg's in the United States that would be willing to pay a premium for that ammo.

I believe he is from california, but is currently in Iraq. That would explain the "In our random confiscating/reissuing" part. I don't think california is that bad, yet.

I had to blow up a StG-44 that was confiscated. I was rather annoyed. Granted, no ammo for it and I got to destroy it with C4, but still...

Ya know, this wouldn't be such a problem if some company, other than Valkyrie and Ohio Ordnance Works, would get off their collective behinds. Imagine--a company that makes (not limited runs either) semi, legal versions of all the great German weaponry... MG-42s, StG. 44s, MP-40s, FG-42s, Lugers, and so forth... and in modern calibers too--.308 for the MGs, 7.62x39mm for the StG. 44 copy, 9mm Luger for the... well, the Luger...

Why the heck doesn't someone do this??? At the very least collectors wouldn't have to find ammo that nobody, not even Norma, makes anymore...

I would start buying them in a heartbeat, even if they were imported by Century (hey, there're always gunsmiths that need work).

I am working on most of those guns. I have just about finished a semi-auto MP40 design, the StG44 is next, followed by the FG42. The only problem at the current time, I haven't yet got the money or the license to produce them. Nor has it (The MP40) been BATF approved, as I can't even afford to make one sample to send them. Give it a few years, though. (Unless someone who already has the shop/license wants to enter in a joint venture with me, and start producing them )

Have 'em shoot me a PM or email, and I promise I won't make somebody pay for it by signing in blood. The stuff really ain't that hard to make, and I'm already tooled up for production of other oddballs like 7.62x45 Czech. No big deal making batches of 7.92x33 Kurz, it's a sweetheart!
