I have a model 101 that I took target shooting a while back. Got home and to my dismay found that the rear sight was lost. The local gunsmith told me he could manufacture one if he had the specs. but I don't think they are available anymore. Also, I found a parts dealer online (can't remember their name) that I ordered. But when it arrived, it was not the same part. I have thought about buying a used one and having the gunsmith duplicate it and then reselling. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You need to find a real gunsmith.

Any one deserving the name could measure the pin location & screw hole location on the base.
And make a taller sight to fit it, and then cut it down to the right height to zero it.

It wouldn't be cheap.
But any 'good gunsmith' should be able to do it.

A 'parts replacer gunsmith' couldn't.

Try Bob's Gun Parts (gun-parts.com), to see if they have a rear sight assembly. I have found some much needed Beretta parts with them.
