Berretta NEOS anyone?

I've wanted one since I first saw them, now I've found one at a price I can live with, and handling it didn't tarnish the idea any for me. So, before I spend the money I was saving for a Contender I was wondering what experiences you guys have had? Any advice, pro or con?

I don't own one, but from what I remember, the two main issues seem to be grip angle and the trigger.
Some people don't like the no-191 grip angle.
For most, the trigger seems to be heavy.

I checked one out in a local shop,i like the looks but the 8-9lb trigger pull turned me off.

THe heavy trigger may be an issue for a few guns. I played w/ one in a store yesterday and it had an ok DA trigger but the SA was sweet. You might have to try a few before you find the one you like.

The NEOS is a single-action gun and only has an SA trigger pull. Are you sure you don't mean the 9000S or another Beretta?

My Neos has a fine trigger,and is the only .22lr i've owned which was 100% from round one.I've used nothing but Remington golden bullets and bulk Federal in it.I have not been able to ascertain whether any other owners guns look sandblasted by the extractor like mine quickly did.Beretta wasnt aware of this but said its probably the ammo causing the problem.I don't think it is.

I like mine. They are coming out with a new model that has an adjustable trigger, I'm hoping that have a drop-in kit to replace the trigger. Otherwise I may buy the newer model and sell my current one.

As to the sandblasted thing. Yes, I have a nice shiny rectangular mark on the "chamber" in the same location as where the extractor would meet it.

That design was the old High Standard Duramatic; it has now gone through three companies (High Standard, Colt, and Beretta) and the first two had little success with it. When the guns work, they are OK, but the design with the recoil spring and firing pin spring requires some delicate balancing which always seems to go awry after the gun has been used a while.

When they get out of whack, as they always seem to do, they are a PITA to fix in spite of what seems like a clean and simple design.

Let's hope Beretta has better luck, but even if I needed a .22 pistol, I would wait and see how the NEOS works out.
