A British man who was shot three times on a London street claims the gunman was enraged over his Barack Obama T-shirt, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Dube Egwuatu told the Mail he was purchasing a cell phone when a stranger started shouting racial slurs over his shirt featuring the presidential candidate’s face and the word “Believe.”

Egwuatu zipped up his jacket and headed for his car, but as he turned it on, the gunman opened the passenger side door and shot him three times, hitting him in the face, hand and shoulder.

Egwuatu managed to drive off while bleeding and call for help. A piece of metal was removed from his jaw from the attacker’s gas-powered ball-bearing pistol, the Mail reported.

“He was telling me that he was going to kill me,” Egwuatu told the Mail. “I couldn't believe it was happening — and just because I was wearing an Obama T-shirt. He was trying to make me walk somewhere quieter, saying: ‘I've got something for you,’ and ‘I'm going to kill you.’”

Local police are still looking for the gunman.

I think it may be one of those miniature "spud guns" made from brass or stainless pipe and of course miniaturized to accept bearings.

I used to make spud cannons and this is a common practice. You can also build them to shoot marbles.

Otherwise, I would figure the press would say an evil pellet or bb gun, because i think those are regualted over there too.

So any law that is broken is a blatant failure of the law?

So speed limits are for public safety and if a person speeds and ends up in a injurious crash as a result of that speed, it is a failure of the law?

I guess all laws fail.

When you call it a gas-powered ball-bearing pistol, it makes it sounds so much more scary and deadly. Just like military style is implied to mean military function. :barf:

Gotta love the UK.....

:barf:

May be I should add to my signature below "An unarmed state is a police AND criminal state" I mean since criminals will always find an alternate weapon when others are taken away. What a JOKE! :fire: UK...Wake up and start smelling your tea!

Mmm … this hasn’t made any headline news over here. The guy claims to have been shot 3 times in the hand, face and shoulder but if you look at the picture in this link – you’ll see he has two plasters (band-aids) – one on his wrist and the other on his hand so was it 4 shots? … anyway the bad guy must have been an awful shot.

It probably wasn’t a BB gun but more likely a CO2 powered air pistol which has a rotary magazine and holds 8 x .177 pellets and can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger – not life threatening but is powerful enough to embed the pellet under the skin or worse blind you.

The guns are replicas of famous pistols like 1911, Walther CP88 and CP99, Desert Eagle, Berretta FS92, Smith & Wesson Revolver and a few others. They are made of metal, quite realistic looking and can fire approx 70 – 80 pellets from one CO2 bulb and are quite accurate to 25 yards.

The are legal to own without a Firearms Certificate and can be carried in public so long as they are cased.

It was reported by the Daily Mail.

Just for the record, the Daily Mail just make it up as they go along. If it will scare the middle class, they just print it, true or not.

Aweful newspaper.

I have one of those--a Walther CP Sport:

It shoots pellets at around 400 fps (with a fresh CO2 tube). I wouldn't call it a deadly weapon. I wouldn't ever try to hunt small game with it--strictly a plinker. But is certainly capable of putting an eye out. I would call this assault as opposed to attempted murder.

You are correct. But remember the UK is a Socialist state. Guns are not allowed in such states. That why the British are called subjects rather than citizens.

A subject is contolled by the state. Austrialia is another pin headed nation.

Bot the UK and Australia are scratch their head wondering why the crime rate has gone up.

This just proves how dangerous it is to support Obama :neener:.

I hope I didn't just get the thread locked, but I had to say it.

I honestly didn't think BB gun when I read the story, but I guess I should have. I was thinking it was a homemade ball bearing thrower, like a hand held small caliber spud gun. I was wondering why someone would go to the trouble of making one and then use it on such a random seeming target. If it was some commercially available piece, then it begins to make more sense (relatively).

Staggeringly untrue. Learn some facts. If it was really a Socialist state we would be called citizens or something. We are called subjects of the crown. That is nothing to do with socialism.

Just type anything
