Good deal my friend. An FFL transfer of the pistol will not tell you if it's stolen, only LE can check that by running the serial numbers to see if that particular serial number was reported stolen. You can have local LE check it for you if you feel it's necessary, otherwise, all you need to do is keep a record of when and from whom you purchased it. Deals like this happen every so often due to someones circumstances changing...you just happen to be at the right place at the right time - congratulations!
The G19 is an outstanding pistol - welcome to the "dark side"!, however, if it doesn't fit your hand (sometimes the location of the hump on the backstrap makes a difference, the G17 or G26 sits in my hand better than the G19) or needs, your can always use it to trade. The 9mm Glocks have the best reputation for longevity and, like other Glocks, ease of maintenance.

i shoot a SA XD, and so far it seems to sit and point well, cant tell much of a weight diffrence betweeen the two when they are fully loaded, size is about the same, only thing is the glock's grip seems like holding a slightly rounded piece of wood
im not a big fan of the loaded chamber indicator on the glock its hard to tell if its sticking out or not, i really like the SA XD loaded chamber indicator it sticks out far enough to tell if its out or in with out running your finger over it.
oh and the anti gun crap that came in the box made me want to vomit though i cant beleve gun manufactures actually put that stuff in there.

beats me if it shoots good or not i just got it saturday haha, its a 9mm btw
oh another thing i do not like about the glock compared to the SA XD is how you have to pull the trigger to field strip the glock, the XD you lock it open flip the switch up then release the slide and pull trigger, glock is drop mag, pull trigger (open chamber and check if you are a smart safe type then pull trigger) pull back slide release slide etc....
