I have a excellent condition blued "bmk" sitting in my safe that yet remains to be again shot since getting my new glock.Im considering a used 10/22 and a mn91 to go with my k98.I have nothing negative towards the mak but no longer shoot it since my glock serves the same purpose and has both a greater capacity and is more potent.Theres 2 empty "long-gun" spots in my safe as well.:D

What kind of value does the mak have?

it has;
2 mags
nylon hoster
barnaul hp ammo and some other import stuff.

Thanks

First, if you don't have to sell it, don't. They are steady going up in price and there's few guns that can compare with the Mak.
I can almost guarantee you that if you sell it you will kick yourself in the future.

I have 15-17 (I lost count) and I look for more bargains all the time.:)

I haven't seen a Bulgarian Mak below $200 in a while. The last gun show I didn't see one under $230.

I'm sure there are still some that could be had for under $200 but they are fast disappearing.

The Barnaul JHP ammo was about the best available and dried up some time back so ask a premium price on it. $9-$10 a box.

Maks are very fun...

Reliable, etc., but they are about as expensive to shoot as a .40 Smith. EVen the surplus ammo is a bit high. But they are generally 100%. Be careful - you usually regret selling off a decent weapon.

If it's storage space your looking for, I can store it for you. I promise that it will get fired regularly so it won't feel neglected. I won't even charge a locker fee!!!he-he.

I considered selling mine a short while ago.

I originally paid 150.00 for mine a few years ago. I could probably sell it for 225.00 or so now, but I decided it's one of my pistols that I just won't sell. It's too much fun to shoot, accurate as hell despite it's tiny sights, and not too bad as a carry weapon.

Dont sell it, collect it(let it sit and ignore it). In fact, what you should do is go buy a CZ52 to keep it company. And a Tokarev.

They are fun little guns, darn shame they work so well or I wouldnt be in this spot.

I think I'll probably just let it set awhile and just buy the other guns outright somewhere when I can save up the cash.Thanks.

Is Bulgarian makarov better than Russian makarov? I have a imported Russian makarov in makarov caliber. solid and perfectly reliable, just a little underpowered.

No matter which Russian model, I assume you are talking about IJ-70 for adj sights, they seem to be worth alot more. You can still get a Bulgy for $250, but all the Russians are over $400 that I have seen at this point. I would like to find a Russian one for a reasonable price.

Yeah, mine is IJ-70 in 9 x 18 caliber with adjustable rear sight, which I bought a year ago for $250 + shipping and FFL. Excellent shooter. 99% blue.

I am sure you won't have a problem getting rid of it .. MAK's are GREAT guns .. keep it unless you HAVE to sell
