Burris scopes

I have heard good things about Burris scopes, but I'm a leupold guy so I'll probably never own one. If Burris services their products like Leupold does, you shouldn't have any problems; I've heard similar stories to the one willymike shared in post 6 on Leupold CS. If the Burris line has good coatings and good clicks, it sounds like a good deal. I don't know what they are charging for these scopes, but Cabelas is showing $479 for the VX-III which may be expensive to some, but I guess that all depends on how much of your fun money goes towards shooting.

Evidently their warranty service is very poor, as compared with Leupold (or so it has been alleged). But the scopes themselves seem great to me, and a good value for the money - two fullfield 2s and one Sig Select here. To me, Leupolds are a better value for BIG boomers, like .300 maggies, .375, etc., because those are the guns likely to break a scope, where the warranty might be needed; plus, those are the guns where the good eye relief of Leupold is needed. For smaller boomers, I go with better value scopes (lower priced; equal glass). Most Burrises fall into this latter category.

Warne rings, QD or otherwise, are good stuff, Maynard!

Bushnell (Bausch & Lomb) Elite 3200/4200.FAVORITE

If I find an Elite 3000, I buy it. Have 4.
The ONLY way to go(for me.)

Have (2) - Fullfield-II and I like them ; they were on a refurb sale at ........heck it has been a few years ago. One on a 300 win, one on a 7mm rem.
Never had a scope cut, except from a Sightron.

Go to a shop that has em all, and look through them and see which one catches your eye. Burris caught mine!

You would be surprised to see how much an eyebrow can bleed.

The supraorbital foramen is the hole right above each eye-socket (orbit), inside where the eyebrow is. Through these holes runs a vein, and I would imagine that these holes would crack them open if something hammered them. Add to that the way that pretty much any cut on the head seems to bleed to an unusual extent, and I could see how what you say would be true.

I have more Burris scopes than any other make (I also own and use one or more Leupold, B&L, Bushnell, Redfield, Weaver, Simmons and Tasco scope) and I have had very good service with them, optically and mechanically.

I have never had to test their Customer Service department but doesn't not having to mean the best possible customer service? :)

Their customer service is great. I have a Burris Black Diamond on my 300WSM. The paralax adjustment knob fell off somewhere in the mountains of New Mexico. I wrote the company, and the president sent me a replacement part free of charge. He also gave me a 75% off coupon for any Burris product I wanted.

I have Three FFII on 30.06, 22.250,
7MM Rem Mag, No problems.
My Buddy just bought one with a Free Gps with it. I also received a pair of Binos and spotting scope with mine
