I'm looking for some 20 rounds mags for a Ak I purchased. I missed the area gun shop last weekend was out of town . Does anyone know of places on the net to get them ? Thanks

Sportsmans Guide has some annoying policies.
Buy too much and they eject you from their Buyers Club and won't refund the membership cost!
Of course this was before they were bought out by that French mail order chain so maybe that policy is no longer in effect?

Wise Lite Arms,

Thanks for the link; I just ordered a couple of the 20-rounders myself. They're a nice size for all-around use, and don't get in the way when shooting from a bench.

lol $30 dollars for 10 less rounds, you can get 30rd hungarians for 14.95 from cdnn,

I too prefer the 20 round AK and AR15 magazines. The firearms handle better, especially when shooting prone or off a rest.

I'll see your $14.95 and lower it by $2.00: Actually 30-rounders though.
Classic Arms: $12.95

Thats a good price, but they make no mention of shipping prices.

Also, they lack the ability to order online. Thats a deal breaker... I'm very suspicious of any web-based business that cant maintain a decent website. Its neither difficult nor expensive.

Classic Arms is great to work with

I know....it seems crazy to actually have to talk to a person to order...but there you go

I always see that comment about 20 rd mags and bench resting or prone....

So I gotta ask....can someone measure the difference??

Cause I will admit I do not shoot my AK's from a rest..can't imagine why I would

But I have ZERO issues going regular prone (rollover prone is a NO-Brainer)

Bullseyes76 - If you want to, you can take a trip to another state (VA for example) and buy 30 rounders to your heart's content, then bring them back with you. Maryland law doesn't forbid owning 30 round mags, it just prohibits the purchase or sale of them in-state. If you buy out-of-state, and bring them back, you're good to go.

NOTE - You will be looking at legal troubles if at any time you give away, sell, trade, or offer to give away, sell or trade any of those mags to anyone, MD resident or not. But, as long as you keep them for yourself you're good to go. (to be safe, I'd make sure that you were the only one who used them as well, I.E. at the range, if someone wants to shoot your AK, let 'em rip with a 20 rounder.)

As always, be sure to keep your reciepts and whatnot in case anyone asks.

I just measured, and my Hungarian 20's are 2 inches shorter than my Romanian 30's.

Shooting from a bench is helpful for sighting in optics (I run a Kobra on my SAR-1), or just for seeing what the rifle can do, since the most convenient range in my area isn't very prone-friendly. I wish it were...

The 20's are actually pretty close in length to 5.56x45 30-rounders, AFAIK.

Unless it is free, every single on-line store I have used has been in the $10 range for shipping. Where are you buying from?

Nowhere. I just know that a lot of people have been noticing the shipping from places like Sportsman's Guide and Cheaperthandirt.com have been getting obscene lately. The prices might be decent, but after they figure in shipping costs it seems more and more people aren't buying what they're selling.

I bought two 30rd mags (don't know origin) for 15 bucks/ea. at a gunshow in July :) No shipping charges, obviously ;)
