can buy them at Turner's for that price, and don't have to pay shipping (do have to pay sales tax, should you have it in your area).

Greetings,

Kead Bullets and Gardner's Cache have better price and I ordered from both of them and the quality is good.

Thank you

They are already lubed & sized to .356" dia.
The red ring around the bullets in the pictures is bullet lube.

All you will need to do is bell your case mouths slightly more then you do with jacketed bullets to prevent shaving lead when you seat them.

What guns do you plan to shoot them in?
Glocks & cast bullets don't get along so hot, or so the rumer goes.

PS: When you order cast bullets, watch out for the shipping charges.
It can eat your lunch if you are not careful!

It's sometimes possible to find them locally cheaper because they ship large quanties motor freight.

usually the per k price is better than per 500 price,so those look about right.
Most will ship usps Flat Rate box,but double chech their shipping info.

sometiems the 2k price is a bit lower too.

Can you cast bullets out of brass?

I have a lot of older solid brass Champion sprinkler valves I am considering melting down. probably have 20-30 lbs. of Brass. Can they effictively be melted and cast into bullets?

NO.

It melts at almost 1,000 degrees and would present unsurmountable casting problems with common iron or aluminum bullet molds available to the hobby bullet caster.

I'd suggest to go to a salvage yard and trade it for some scrap lead or wheel-weights.

If you are interested in casting your own, try checking with your local tire shops. They are often happy to give you their scrap wheel weights. I cast lots of bullets with just straight wheel weights. This makes them almost free. Free bullets is a good thing. Only cost is some electicity for the melting pot. Maybe a few bucks for a mold, but that makes for some cheap bullets that shoot great.

The days of free wheel weights in my area are long gone. They sell all their wheel weights to the Exide Battery Company. The truck picks them up when they deliver the batteries. It's hard to compete with that, since they're paying a good price for them. I was able to buy about 75 pounds recently, but it cost me $ .55 a pound for them.

Hope this helps.

Fred
