Claridge Hi-Tec C-9 Carbine

Okay, i've been trying to find this pistol forever, and found very little information or pictures relating to the gun. The carbine made an apperance in the 1995 movie Assassins, starring Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas. I was curious if anyone had any information on how I could go about purchasing this rifle or even find something similar. Does anyone know a website that sells upgrades for pistols, such as, stock, barrel, and magazine? The Claridge Hi-Tec C-9 Carbine has a threaded barrel so a suppressor could be attached.

It started off life as the Goncz. You may find more on the piece if you search for it under that name. From what I have read, the gun_as manufactured by Claridge_was of pretty poor quality.

CDNN has been listing both the pistol and the carbine in recent catalogs- some magazines IIRC, but I don't recall anything else in the way of parts/accessories...

I appreciate the info and the link to the site. Hopefully going to find a claridge for sale or something very similar like a feather. I don't really want the gun for performance, but as a conversation piece nonetheless.

There has been a Claridge 9mm pistol for sale at the local Dallas,TX gun shows for about the last 6 months. IIRC, the seller is asking $600. Sorry, don't have any contact info.

Why would they ever do that. Tec-9s are horribley made and about as acurate as a 1911 with a 3" barrel. Not to mention are extremely jumpy because of the open bolt action.

^ I'm not after the claridge for performance I like the design of the gun. As I said it would be more of a show piece than used for performance. Also the 1911 is farily accurate in my opinion.

Open bolts were banned in '82 because the ATF said they were to easy to convert to full auto. I don't think this particular weapon was made before '82, was it?

I wouldn't give $0.20 for a Tec-9- I'd rather have a sharp stick.

The Tec 9 fires from the closed bolt, anyway. But it is still a POS.

I picked up 50 guns in an estate sale. The Tecs were just part of the deal.

I got 6 Valmets, a dozen Bulgarian AKs, some Feg AKs, a couple truck loads of ammo, and a ton of other stuff. So I can't really complain about the Tecs.

Correia are the Tec 9's in good condition? Also, whoever asked this gun was made well after 82.

I don't know if they've ever been shot. It doesn't look like it. This guy bought a ton of guns in the 80s, and then just packed them away in grease and ammo cans sealed with caulk.

I'm talking hardcore Red Dawn fan.

I don't think this pistol is exactley what someone would call "legal".


Its a peice of junk a family member picked up in Manhattan when he lived there. When he got it the dam thing woun't fire at all. Probally some little "thug" tryed to make it full-auto but ended up ruining his weapon. But after a couple parts kits and creative craftsmenship the thing began to work flawless.

^^ If he some how could obtain a kit to convert the Tec 9 into the carbine version. It would be a sweet gun to look at.

I had a PFC (cap gun) Tech 9, It's build quality and function was a million times better than the real deal, and I only dropped $40 for it

That said, if the imitation is better than the original, maybe it isnt the product that's bad.

For all you Tec-9 posters: Hellraiser was asking about a Claridge Hi-Tec C-9, NOT INTRA-TEC Tec-9's. Whole different animal in both quality and appearance. I do agree,though, that Tec-9s are junk. Anybody need a new bolt buffer for one? Cost of shipping USPS only.
