No, sadly I don't have one yet, but will someday.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a Gunsmith who specializes in, or is noted to be good at repairing the Colt Woodsman?

Thanks,

Alex Hamilton at Ten-Ring would be one.

But why do you think you will need a gunsmith??

I've been running four of them for years.

The only thing ever likely to go wrong with one is the real old magazines eventually wear out.

That, and Bubba got to taking one apart further then he should have.

Just buy a good unmolested one, and you won't need a gunsmith.

Thanks RC. Shame on Bubba. ;)

I carried one throughout my teenage years almost daily, especially on the trap line, and never had a problem.

I asked the question because having spent 15 years as an academy firearms instructor (USBP) and issuing thousands of handguns I have seen my share of breakages. For a 48 person class I'd check out 50 of one model, 60 of another and 100 of another due to expected breakages.

Two months ago I had a Ruger Single Six inexplicably lock up. (?) Glad it was when I was dry firing with empty casings in the weapon.

Guess I am getting a bit jaundiced.

Thanks again,
