Double taps and YOUR PA-63...

how much success do you have? I can shoot mine all day at reasonable speed using Barnaul 95gr HP's,but the instant i try quick double taps they jam up solid and i mean SOLID! Im going to get new recoil springs and im thinking that maybe the steel slide on aluminum frame requires grease instead of oil.A friends acted EXACTLY like mine and we thought we would have to get a hammer out to free it up.I like 63's but this is disturbing.

My little brain just put up a flag when you said that. Are you sure you're not causing the jams?

Sometimes you can shake a gun up, and bobble the bullet around before the slide locks up- and cause a malfunction.

Try loading up a magazine and shake it around. See if the bullets start popping out of the mag.
 
The slide doesn't lock on the blow back PA-63! I am gonna try to shoot as fast as I can with mine, I'll let you know!. The springs begg to be 'Wolfized' on these guns.
 
While the trigger re-set is a little gritty I've never had a problem with double-taps in my PA-63, in fact I've never had a jam, though I did note the slide velocity would slow down when shooting lead bullets.

If your pistol is not locking open after the last shot you've likely bent the spring that actuates the slide lock, or lost it (they pop out far too easily during dissasembly). Also if you install the spring upside down it won't function properly.

I always use a light application (a shmear as they say) of grease on the slide rails and a tiny bit on the top of the barrel.

Id say you have a good chance of this being a shooter issue as opposed to a gun issue...Ive double tapped smc's, pa's, pmk's just about all FEG's wittle guns. The PA is the meanest to you as the shooter, with recoil. The slide/frame fit is typically loose enough to not make grease an issue.....however, I swear by Miltec grease....its the best stuff Ive found.
Id say try doubles changing your grip.......tighter, looser, lower and higher.....etc.

Im concerned because ive never had double tap problems with any other handgun i own.My friend had the same result as me whether we were using my 63's or his.We were both using Barnaul 95gr HP's.When this occurs,the slide jams open about 1/2" out of battery with a round chambered.Needless to say this is not a good position to be in.It took brute force to get the slide too move forward regardless of the 63 being shot.Maybe its a situation that occurs with the 63 that im not aware of.The slides did lock open after the last round by the way.
 
A possible.....only a possible solution.
Barnaul is lacquer coated ammo. Its you havent "totally and completely" cleaned your chamber after shooting this stuff and your gun had gotten hot while shooting. You could have lacquer build up on the chamber walls......just a thought.
Clean the (%$)#_ out of it and try it with non lacquer ammo.......
You never know its worth a try.
