Close by the Elk Fork of the Salt River
First was a Taurus 650 CIA with .38 specials. First shot was high from (15 yds), then was right on after that. Shooting at an 8 inch disc. Like the feel in my rather large hands. This one will probably be my carry gun in 45 days (MO now has CCW!).

Second was a blast. Brand new AK-47. Gun and Ammo arrived within minutes of my farm and my FFL (Thanks Military Shooters!). Field stripped per the instructions and to tell you the truth I had more trouble with the sling than I did with stripping and assembly.

Fired about 40 rounds at a 1 by 2 foot piece of plastic at 50 yards. Shooting off-hand with the sights right out of the box the number of hits was excellent. Love the stock grain, and it will look better after some oil and rubbing.

This has been a good weekend! :D

Congrats on the new guns. I've got two AK's and really enjoy shooting them...if you really like your AK I suggest you also try an SKS. Much less recoil than the AK, shoots the same round, and IMHO is more accurate.

The good news is you can pick one up at a gunshow (or online) for less than $125.

    Good luck & enjoy!
