Does anyone own or have any pics of a FN HiPower Standard? These aren't the Browning HP Standards with adjustable sights but a FN marketed HP with fixed sights. Thanks for the help.

This is my FN in polished blue. I haven't had a chance to even fire it yet. The slide to frame fit is tight and overall, it seems very well made. It is a "Vigilante". Does anyone know why it is so named? Thanks.

Hello. "Vigilante" was a name the fixed sight classic HP's imported by Browning were called in some literature.

I THINK the "Standard" refers more to a polished blue regardless of sights, at least on the Browning-marked guns. I'm not sure if this applies to the FN-imported ones, but wouldn't be surprised.

Best.

Tecolote,

I just bought one last week in 9X19, no pics yet though, sorry. I will tell you this, I am a Browning lover and own two BHP's and a number of other Browning guns, I think the FNH-USA HP-SA is every bit as good as the BHP MKIII in fit and finish. Very good looking gun. Spegals are next

Thanks for the replies.

I can't find any info on the FN Standard at all. I just know that it sells for a lot less than the FN Mk III.

I'm not sure about all this FN Standard stuff as far as the name goes... but you can get a matte finish FN comparable to the Browning MKIII (they are THE SAME afterall) from CDNN for 450. The polished blue is 500 and is the same as the Browning Standard. There are FN D/A guns associated with the name Hi Power, which should be totally disregarded if you are interested in a true HP. They are much less expensive, and may be what you are thinking of?

FN differentiates between the Standard and the Mk III. The FN Standard costs $150 less than the Mk III. I'm pretty sure there must be a difference if not the price wouldn't be so far apart.

I've never seen a hi polish blued FN. Obviously they make them or, did make them cause xring has one.

I only know of two FN websites, FNH-USA and, FN Herstal that has Hi-Powers and then of course Browning.

The Browning HP STD is the only one I know of in Hi Polish blue. Hope I can learn something here!
