Odds are good you'll never find a 99 Savage at that price!
For what it is though, I think I'd look for a .308 or '06 in a similar gun if I wanted a Remington. You can always make one of them act like a .300 Savage but you can't really make the .300 the equal of one of them in most cases.

Nice gun, thanks for posting the link. I have seen several 760's in .300 savage in person, but none looked that good, and none were drilled and tapped. A nice looking 99 in .300 Savage went off gunbroker a couple days ago, buy it now for $500 with no bids. It looked OK, but the best thing was it had an original Weaver scope w/ post and crosshair, which is very hard to find.
