Can you define significant quantity of carbines tranfered
how long do you think they will last?

There have not been any carbines remaining in Army inventory for some years. Any carbines we get now or in the future will be from someplace overseas. This also includes future Garands if any. In some cases we will know the country, and in some we won't.

The M1 Carbine is perfectly legal to own in California. The only problem there might be is if they come with 15 round magazines. If that is the case then I would just ask them to not ship the magazine.
