I put a 3.5# Scherer connection in my G23 hoping to improving the trigger. Near as I can figure the trigger pull decreased from ~6# 8 oz to ~5# 2oz. Should I do a happy dance or be disappointed ?

That's about all they will lower it. Did you polish the internals a little while you were in there. It seems to help some also.

Replace the trigger and striker springs with 6 lb springs, it will smooth and lighten the pull. The springs are availible from Ghost for about $6.00. I have installed them on my 19,22,23 and 26 and they really do help. The 6lb striker will give you a definite feel as to when the trigger will release and it also gives you a heavier hit on the primer.

I heard that a 4# striker spring will give you a lighter trigger pull. You find the 6# striker spring works better?

Get a wolff competition spring set for the striker, plunger and trigger. It will make a large improvement in lowering the trigger pull weight. Also, beveling the plunger safety helped too. And yes, polish the internals.

Good luck.

FYI… I went ahead and installed a Wolff Competition Pak #33230 which made the trigger definitely break cleaner and feel more crisp. Trigger pull results were as follows:
~6# 8oz. OEM
~5# 2.5oz [20% drop] after 3.5# Scherer connector
~4# 4.3 oz [35% drop] after 3.5# Scherer connector and Wolff Competition Pak

Just wondering, is this on your CC pistol? I only ask because some people seem to freak out when I mention doing ANYTHING to my stock G17 that I CC.

Sorry, don't mean to thread-jack :)
