I saw a very nice Winchester 1894 recently for $650.00. The owner would take $600 though. The action was very tight (smooth but tight ... not sloppy) and other than a couple of minor buggers where the previous owner didn't use a gunsmith's screw driver it is in near perfect condition. Bright shiny bore with good sharp rifling. Looks barely used.

It has sling swivels added and where the owner removed the barrel bands there are a couple of nicks near the screw heads and it looks like they used a receiver sight on it because those screw heads are a little rough.

Other than those two things ... nearly perfect.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. ;) If you want it for what they want to sell it for, everybody is happy. I bought a S&W model 19-4 recently for about $500. I probably could've gotten it for less, but I wanted it and they wanted to sell it. Win-win for everybody!
