A .22 target pistol for cheap practice and teaching newbies

A full-size auto (wundernine, 1911, whatever)

A carry piece (which might be your full-size, depending)

That is pretty much all the "must haves" in my opinion.

Everything after that is just because you want it

It really depends on the individual and whether or not they have a theme idea, a practical idea or just want a bunch of guns.

Me I want all kinds of different actions, single action, double action, P7 squeeze cocker etc.

As for a "collection" must have handgun I would agree on a Colt 1911 and would probably add everybody should have a SAA revolver of some type preferably a Colt but basically a Single Action Army revolver is a necessity.

For me, there are 'must haves' in diff't calibers & configurations. In 45 acp, a 1911, in 9mm, a P7M8, in 38/357 mag, a S&W wheelgun & in 22lr, the S&W mod 41.

Guns schmuns, I want this 31-rd USP magazine :p

1911 - .45 (full-size)
Browning Hi-Power - 9mm
Ruger/Browning/Whatever - .22
S&W - .357/.38

.
SIG P210 - 9mm (OK, not "must have"... but want A LOT)

The one and only .45 Luger toggle top. Until I get that, I don't have a collection -- just some shootin' irons.... :D

Yeah, I saw it somewhere recently too....but

same answer....
1911 .45 acp, good leather, wilson mags, 22 conversion unit!
Everything else is gravy!

I'd say everyone should have at least one good large frame magnum revolver, one good large frame semi-auto and one .22 in either revolver or semi-auto. That's the bare minimum.

Okay ... it'll take more than one.
1) Quality 1911A1.
2) S&W N frame in .41/44 Mag
3) S&W K/L/N frame in .357
4) Ruger Mk II

Hmmm...
How about

1) .22 plinker for training newbies
2) Fullsize centerfire handgun, caliber of your choice
3) Compact centerfire handgun for CCW
4) Centerfire Pocket pistol of some sort
5) .22 Target pistol for bullseye
6) .45 Target pistol for bullseye

:)
