I'll be taking a fighting handgun course in late April. The instructor wants us to be carrying at least two spare mags. I'll be using my Glock 35 with the Fobus hoster I really like. Problem is, I rarely carry spare mags for the full size pistols unless out in the sticks. Then, I use nylon full flap mag pouches on my web gear. Long story short are horizontal vs vertical pouches as secure and as fast?

    Thanks for your help, A

Kydex always seems like the natural for Glocks, lightweight, weather resistant, and durable, just like your pistol.

Lots of guys recommend two singles rather than a double since you have more options for placement and you can avoid belt loops easier with two singles. Vertical will give you more options than horizontal, and it will be easier to carry more pouches in the vertical orientation.

Some of the top kydex makers are...

    Comp-Tac http://www.comp-tac.com

    Blade-Tech http://shop.blade-tech.com

    Garrett Industries http://garrettindustries.mybigcommerce.com

    Raven Concealment Systems http://www.ravenconcealment.com

A well designed open top vertical magazine pouch is just as secure and much faster. Don't even consider a horizontal one as it is much slower due to the way you need to move your hand to access the mags.

Be sure to have the bullets facing forward

Here you are from Amazon. Just get 2 for flexibility in placement on your belt
