How big is too big...?

How big is too big for a CCW weapon for you? We all have different bodies so just list you basic dimensions, height/weight and anything about you that you think is of note and what weapons youve tried to carry but were just too damn big to conceal. Mainly looking for responcese as to what you would carry without a jacket because you could prolly hide anything with the right jacket:p
 
5'10" 150pounds, 30 inch waist, Springfield 1911 fullsize, no problems, but I think its mainly because the 1911 platform is so narrow, I don't think I'd be as capable with say a glock or a H&K or any double stacked pistol for that matter, but I really don't have much experience with anything other than my 1911, I did carry a Beretta M9 for two years but it was in a duty holster, not concealed.
 
I normally carry a Glock 17 either IWB or OWB pending mode of dress. Sometimes I add a second G17 in a shoulder rig if taking a long road trip or feel need for a backup weapon. I'm 6'4 and of large-build so I generally have no problem hiding a fullsize service weapon. I also rotate a Beretta 92FS and Sig P220 into the mix pending what I feel in the mood for.
 
I'm 6'3" and about 250#. Carry a full size Kimber or CZ 85c. Have had no problems concealing either. Of course YMMV.

I've carried my 9mm P226 in a paddle holster under a light coat and shirt. It's not something for hot weather wear (that's what the P239 is for), but hell, I also had the M6 on a paddle holster opposite side. :p
 
6'1", 215 lbs, 36" waist. I've found that, with only a loose fitting shirt, I'm limited as to what I can effectively hide with a belt holster. IWB, on the other hand, I can carry my full size Springfield 1911 with no worries of it being spotted. With the belt rig, and no jacket, I usually carry my Kahr P9. Even with a slightly tight shirt, it's very well hidden.
 
Im a big boy and can carry any gun , sometimes I find two or three i forgot i had. Im 6' 4 and 295 and carry a 22 somewhere on me.
 
5'9" 200 lbs, 35" waist, with a pancake OWB holster, I can conceal a 629 4" Mountain Gun, it has to be the right shirt though. Its not real comfortable or practicle, but it works. I typically carry a Glock 34 in a pancake holster and it conceals easily. I really like the pancake holsters for holding big guns high and tight on the waist.
 
5'9" 180lb. 32" waist. No problems concealing a HK USPF 40 under a loose t shirt. IWB works well .
 
6'3" and 300 lbs. I have sucessfully carried concealed a S&W 629 with a 3" barrell i.e. the Trail Boss. Although heavy it is not too hard to do with a good holster and a good gun belt.

What do I carry every day? A S&W 386 TiScan with a 3" barrel. It weighs in at 18 ounces empty and is simply a jewel to shoot and carry.

Post photos of you packing this and not from a couple of angles each. Make it a Poll to vote on which set is which. I hear this claim all the time. Would be intresting to see if we "make" you or not. Obviously if you carry SOB and only post a front view photo this will be useless. If nobody could ever get behind me and I never had to sit down I could carry my AK underfolder :)

Probably would work for me most of the year if I lived where it snows. But here, even my Kimber Ultra Carry is too big 9 or 10 months of the year. I usually end up carrying a scandium J-frame .357 or my Kahr PM40. Too often the little P3AT is all I can manage.

5'11" 180 lbs, 32" waist. Can conceal fullsize, but I prefer semi-compact models; full length grips tend to create a protrusion in my clothing when I bend over. I carry a Witness Compact 10mm between 3 and 4 O'clock IWB. On really warm days, I carry a Taurus PT145 milpro IWB just right of 12 O'clock with shirt untucked.
 
allright, my gun is as my folks house, they don't let us have guns on campus, and I plan on going home next weekend, so plan on pictures next sunday or monday.
 
I like whatever shoots hardest that I can accurately control rapid fire and carry comfortably depending on the season. Usually a speed-six 2.75" or 2.5" SP101 owb because they do all that for me in all seasons. Love my new S&W 40VE in bianchi's accumold which is easy under a loose t-shirt for me too.

I am 6'.00" 210# and even in summer when out (open carry at home) - have a vest (Smith & Alexander). It serves for cover even when hot and out on bike too.

I choose large and heavy - full size, which right now and for last year nearly is SIG 226 ST - it has capacity, is very controllable and shoots better than any of my other carry options. Could also be 228 or 220.

Winter carry - right now - I can always have it covered by open shirt or even add jacket too. It resides always in K&D belt Defender OWB 3 - 3.30.

If - and it is rare - I have to go real deep then R9 in pocket or ankle.

I am admittedly fortunate - work at home - not out too much and so can dress to suit my own choice - which is always carry biased for full size. Benefits of being an ol' phart and semi retired!!

Too big is only when carry options preclude same, or some dislike of size/weight combination. I would always recommend the carry of the largest gun for anyone, that is practicable and they shoot well with - and stick to it - ''beware the man with but one gun"
 
I'm 6' plus a little, 150 lbs. and I've been carrying an H&K USP40 IWB for three years now. I've only been busted once and it was when a shirt rode up on it and I stood up without realizing it. I can even get away with carrying the same gun with a Fire Dragon ported .357SIG barrel in it, which is about an inch longer than the other barrel.

I've worn it with either barrel IWB with jeans and an XL white Hanes t-shirt on in 90 degree weather without any troubles. You have to be conscious of how you present yourself (i.e. bend with your legs when you go to the ground for something, not the hips, etc.), but most people can conceal a lot more than they think.
 
5'7 205 with a 42" waist (yeah i got the ole spare tire going). I usually use a ctac with a G26 with a +1 extension at 3 to 3:30. As long as i use the right shirt (slightly loose dress shirts most of the time), it conceals great.
 
Dang BAKERT, thats what I was thinking! These guys are in some kind of good shape. Bout that time along come a shore-nuff honest man ( THE FLY ) and publicized that big 42 in front of God and everbody ! Now mind you, I ain't saying that your figures are off, but if the belt fits,wear it.(or something like that).
Now having said that, I carry either a Kahr P-40 or Glock 36 cause I NEVER want to be "made". Oh yeah, I'm 6'0, 170 with a 34 inch waist.

5' 11" 220lbs mostly muscle but some gut in there as well. I carry IWB so I don't like thick guns or big guns. I carry a Kahr K-9 because it is so flat I can hide it anytime. I could go small but not larger. I could conceal a larger gun but it would not be comfortable.

I have one of those clips that go on the side of the gun so I don't need a holster if I don't want one. Sometime I use a holder but most of the time I just tuck it in my wastband and go.

Coat pocket means S&W 642 because I know I can fire it from inside the pocket. I will carry that even if I can conceal the Kahr just to have the ability to shoot from inside the coat pocket. I came in handy once. I didn't have to shoot but if I did, I had my hand on the gun and my finger on the trigger. An experience like that sticks with you and helps form your carry gun ideas better than reading every gun rag ever wrote.
 
5'11" and around 205 ... 34" waist ... can easily carry a full-size 1911, but prefer a Commander-size ... Almost always carry OWB in a high-rise pancake such as a Kramer Belt Scabbard; occasionally IWB in a Kramer IWB #3 or MS VM-II. Have also carried SIG 226 in a Galco Concealable or a VM-II...

Tried to carry a Beretta 92FS occasionally (since it was a duty pistol for so long) but just couldn't feel the love (although it certainly felt my love handles).
 
6'1" 240 lbs

I've "CC"ed a Ruger P-97, Colt Govt model, 2" and 4" revolvers, Taurus PT-92,
Makarov, Even a Ruger Vaquero. My daily carry gun for the past 5 years has been a Kimber Pro Carry.
The important things are Belt and Holster.
