How do you carry when you go to a black tie event

Never been to a black tie event, but if I go some place that I have to dress nice, I carry my folding mini in my pocket.....................(just in case)

Sounds perfect. Nice jacket. IWB holster or tuckable glock 27. Simple effective and reliable.

642 naked in jacket pocket! Any J Frame

I have custom make 2" Rhino holster also for 357.

A 7.65mm Walther PPK in a inside-the-waistband holster, concealed under the cummerbund.

A PPK in a shoulder rig, of course!
But of course. :D

Or a P230, or Glock 26, or a J frame, in one of these.....

Keep this up guys and I'll have to start carrying my .25 Beretta daily. I am surprised just how accurate this little thing really is. But, I doubt I could count on one shot stops the way Bond did.

Maybe Q had some special ammo. I seem to recall when they take his Beretta away they told him the .32 hit like a brick. Must have been an awfully small brick.

"Major Boothroyd: [to Bond] Walther PPK, 7.65 millimeter, with a delivery like a brick through a plate-glass window. The American CIA swear by them. "

Well it's a good description if attacked by a plate-glass window. Dunno if the CIA swears by them.

Wear a suit three times a week.

Used to pocket a Detective Special. Kinda big but doable.

Went to a Seecamp LWS32 in the pocket. Sweet but, had to be careful how I grabbed it. Too small for my hams...I mean hands.

Changed to my Sig P290RS. Initially pocket carry. Then got a Null USH-X for it. Awesome upside down rig. Goes under a button up shirt. Previous shoulder and neck injuries make it unusable, for me. Dang it!
Back to pocket carry, with the Sig. Works fine, I just hate not being able to draw while seated.

Shortly will be getting a KelTec P32. Great for pocket, light enough for jacket breast pocket.

Wear a suit once a week. What I'll be doing depends on how I'll be carrying. I'll usually keep a top break .38 in my vest pocket, other than that, I'll carry my Kimber in a Galco Jackass holster, or I'll just tuck a single action 1873 behind my waistband.

I use a trouser holster (crotch holster) from CTD! (TRW-330) for $19.97. Perfect fit for my G27 or S&W 640 with an additional magazine or speed loader and very comfortable.

Almost no possibility of it becoming visible or printing which is definitely a no-no at black tie affairs.

At a black tie event, I wear yellow ties...

When I go to formal events I leave my jacket on all the time so a shoulder holster works best. Since I don't go to them often my shoulder holster is a cheap but effective Condor model I got for around 20 bucks. Durable enough when I was carrying an M9 overseas when I didn't want it on my kidney/leg/chest. Under a jacket, a 1911 is very much at home in it.

The knock on the Beretta, was that 007 was using it silenced when he encountered Rosa Kleb, of SMERSH. He got in caught in his clothing, and nearly got killed.

Boothroyd thought it was underpowered, and even more so, when "silenced". Bond countered by saying he had never missed with it. He reminisced that he had literally "dressed to kill" carrying it in a suede holster.

However, as others have cited, it was the Walther, or a S&W Airweight (Model 42?).

Kel Tec P3at in my pocket. It's not my favorite pistol but has been 100% reliable. It has it's plusses in certain situations where Deep CC is important.

I haven't been to a "black tie" event since the eighties, and I wore an Undercover .38 on my ankle (I was an off-duty LEO.)

Now, when I do have to "dress up", which is rare, it's a Kel-Tec P32 in a front pocket. I've actually done that with a PF9, too, before I got the P32.

When in a suit or sport coat (haven't worn a tux since my wedding), I either use my EDC rig which consists of a Walther PPS in a CTAC IWB holster or my Elsie Pea with Crimson Trace in the pocket.

My Nano in an Alabama Holsters pocket rig. Doesn't matter the dress type as a pocket is a pocket.

When I am at a suit and tie event I make good use of a shoulder holster. Smith m&p 9 full size or a 1911. As well as an lcp in my pocket. When I where a suit I very rarely if ever take my suit jacket off so that is my reasoning. A lot of people see it as carrying something smaller. Me I carry something a bit bigger.
