some one brought it to my attention that if you paint it black and put MK -insert#- that you can make any standard item worth 50% more. what other ways do you guys know of?

As has been discussed at length here, a surefire way to do that is to insert the word "Tactical" anywhere into the item's name or description.

    buy low sell high
putting accessories on a gun is money spent by you for you.
very rarely will you recoup that "custom smithed, tuned and polished" investment you made to your model 10 s&w,etc
lucking out on an ad for a rifle, handgun, that is still nib for almost nothing will make you some money.
OR find the fool who believes that your sar-1 is worth as much at that pre-ban poly-tec ak. now that's making money!!

    One can always....

carve Poncho Villa's initials into the butt.

Enhanced the value of otherwise non-descript TEC-9 doing that.

Depending on your audience, engraving "007" on the grips of a Jetfire might work.;)

Forge nazi proof marks and sell it to a gun show nazi.
(lowered conspiratorial voice) "Only the most elite SS units were issued these Galils which is why they are so rare. But then you probably already knew that. I'll let you have this one for only..."

The easiest way to add value to any weapon is to ban it.

Just Stamp "Property of U.S. Government" nothing they buy is cheap. They paid $1000 for a claw hammer once.

Point it at a bank teller.

Ask how much it is worth. Could be thousands and thousands.

Convince someone at a gunshow that your "Ruger" is actually a "Luger" once used by the Japanese Imperial Army.

    It's worth big bucks.
